Posada del Mar was a great place to stay! Not only was it reasonably priced and they accepted our credit card, but the owner was awesome. He was so kind, helpful, and trustworthy. He offered us cool drinking water right away (which is a precious luxury in Ecuador) and carried our heavy luggage up three flights of stairs. We felt safe and secure there since we were given three keys (one to the main entrance, one to our room, and one to a safe in our room). He told us about good places to eat and visit. He also allowed us to keep our luggage at the front desk from the time we had to check out until we had to leave, which we were grateful for. The common area and balcony were nice. It was fun to meet a friendly family from China there. They were so excited for us when we told them we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Also, the location is great. We easily walked to attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Darwin center, and Estación Beach, as well as the Tortuga Bay walking path entrance. Also, the air conditioning and WiFi worked well. We recommend Posada del Mar and would stay...
Read moreStayed at this Galapagos hotel in June 2022. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here because of the very accommodating and friendly service. The host went out of his way to help the guests. The hotel provided free breakfast through the restaurant next door, but because my tours started very early and the restaurant was still closed, the host, himself, walked me to another restaurant to get my free breakfast. In one instance, I had laundry service, and he didn't even charge me for the service.
In addition to the great service, this hotel also had wonderful views, and its central location is excellent.
I've traveled extensively and stayed at various hotels, and by far, this is the one hotel that provided a truly first-rate service, where the host conscientiously catered to the guests.
If you're traveling to Galapagos, I would wholeheartedly...
Read moreGreat value and location. Very friendly staff. Rooms feature AC, a small safe, hot showers, tv, a small terrace, and internet (FYI- the internet in the Galapagos as a whole is slow). The best parts were 1) the location which is very close to the town center and tons of places to eat, get tours, etc. and 2) the friendly and helpful staff. The staff went out of their way to be helpful by providing a list of free or cheap places to check out (like Las Grietas and Tortuga Beach!). They speak English quite well in case your Spanish is not great. Breakfast isn't included which is just fine because downstairs is awesome Galapagos Deli (I think we ate their 5 times because it was so good and fast). Excellent value and I would stay...
