Galapagos Ecuadoors — Local services in Parroquia Puerto Ayora

We had a bad experience with Galapagos Ecuadoors. We paid a higher price than offered everywhere else for ‘top tier services’ with them - they promised us the best boats for ferries and that their tours provide extra services (they told us other tour guides might not speak english, might not give us wetsuits, the boats might be very basic etc). We ended up very disappointed as we got the standard services for all of our ferries and tours and we were the only ones paying extra for this ‘premium’ service. People on our ferries were paying the standard fees which was less than what we paid and on our Los Tuneles trip we were were charged $30-40 per person more than every single person on our boat. We then got into contact with the manager expressing our disappointment, after a while got offered a refund, yet it’s been 2 months and we haven’t had a reply or a refund, so they completely ignored us. In early 2024 I was planning a comprehensive yet budget trip to Galapagos islands. I reached out to many travel agents and searched on internet high and low but I was unable to find suitable plan. Just when I was ready to give up, I got contact of Mario Campana.

Though Mario’s expertise did not strictly align with my primary interest of bird watching, he provided critical inputs and help in planning day trips for me. My husband and I came to Puerto Ayora looking for a last-minute deal for a cruise around the Galápagos Islands. We visited several local agencies and none were quite like Ecuadoors: high-quality, well-resourced, patient, and accommodating. We worked with Juliette (super sweet, we loved her!) to search through all available cruises (not the case with all local agencies as many don’t have any/strong internet connection) and negotiate a fair price with the cruise lines (she had great connections!). Payment was super easy via bank transfer (not the case with all local agencies!!). Juliette also helped us get wetsuits for our cruise at no additional cost.
