Friendly and efficient staff (mostly fluent in English aside from Spanish), reasonably well-stocked compared to any other convenience stores on the island, open till late night, accepting credit card and big dollar notes (of course after scrutinizing them, but that’s fully understandable – note most restaurants and retailers in Galapagos do not take big notes)
What else can you ask for when on such a small island?
Some reviewers complained about the lack of price tags – but note it’s the case for almost all supermarkets and convenience stores in the Galapagos (Islas Santa Cruz, San Cristobal, and Isabela alike) – so it’s not a problem specific to this store. Nonetheless, prices were still reasonable, and for some fresh produces when I asked some staff members about the price each or per kilo (when they’re free), they’d tell me a rough number which turned out to be more or less right.

There's also a restaurant on the top floor that does decent western food that's not as expensive as most of the restaurants on Ave Charles Darwin. They take credit and debit cards without additional fees.
That said, if you are looking for food items from back home you'll pay absolutely through the nose. Some of their canned and packaged goods are not cheap. It's best to stick to their bakery items, cold drinks and local groceries. Like many grocery stores and mini marts on this items, you'll come across shelves of goods with no prices. It's quite frustrating but not exclusive to this store.
All in all, definitely worth a visit early in your trip to see if you can get a decent shop out...
Read moreIn my opinion, this supermarket is a complete scam. You can see almost no prices anywhere. One of the things we bought was a 200 gr cream cheese, the price written on the product was $ 2.60, we were charged $ 4.75 and they explained to us that this price is just a recommendation and that completely other prices are written on a piece of paper on the wall and they are in fact the prices they charge. Everything is super expensive there compared to other big supermarkets on Santa Cruz, there isn't much choice and the pricing policy is...
