I’m trying not to let this experience ruin the rest of our vacation.||Good communication through booking.com before we left. A week or so prior to our arrival the Hostal confirmed they had showers for us, so I know they had a means to communicate.||We arrived at 2p in the afternoon to the worst possible noise right in front of the Hostal. The street was torn up and construction with heavy equipment to install a sewer system. The noise was deafening. It lasted until 8:45p. Every hour we were told “only one hour more”. Had we known before our arrival we would have booked elsewhere. This was clearly construction that had been going on for some time.||They did allow us to check out early but we had to pay the first night even though we didn’t stay. We couldn’t stand the noise a moment longer and had already packed up and were walking out the door to look for another place to stay when the noise finally stopped. ||The property had a I could care less attitude. When we arrived it appeared no one was there. We kept gently calling out, but no answer. As it turns out, the employee was on his phone in a hammock by the guest rooms.||Sheesh. Really awful. Don’t stay here. There are plenty of affordable...
Read moreWe stayed for three nights and it was perfect for us. I read some of the other reviews and think you get what you pay for. This is a family-run guest house with eight rooms, where most of the guests are out and about during the day.||We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, we had nice hot showers, the communal kitchen was well stocked, staff were friendly and it was great to have an an air conditioner (not that we used it much). It was a 10 min easy walk from the pier and close to everything we needed (bakery, kiosk food street and local market). We didn’t expect wifi on the islands and we were pleasantly surprised here. ||The construction on the road in front is now complete. There is still a lot of construction around town, so there will be noise from digging and generators but that’s not really within the...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here for 10 days in February. Short walking distance to most things in Puerto Ayora but located in a ‘Back Street’ |I’m sure the accommodation is good value but the facilities lacked the personal touch. Rooms were clean and comfortable but the rest of the facilities lacked a good clean especially the shared kitchen area ( very limited equipment ) |We really felt the owners were just running a part time business. |Unfortunately there was limited information about recommended trips or who they would recommend you booked with. |The owners seamed to visit once a day each evening with nobody around at any other times. Whilst the staff were very nice and welcoming they lacked the customer service expected.|This could be a great accommodation if the customer service issue was...
