We recently visited this restaurant, drawn by its glowing reviews, but unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations.
I ordered the spareribs, which cost around $30. The portion was small, and the quality was very disappointing—so much so that I had to send it back halfway through. My girlfriend had a hamburger, which looked promising but was also lackluster in taste. While the service was excellent, as the spareribs were refunded, and we were offered anything from the menu and an additional gift, the food quality overall left much to be desired.
I tried a dessert, which was decent—nothing fancy, but enjoyable. However, the chicken offered by the jefe (manager) was just as unsatisfactory as the ribs and burger. Even the smoothies were underwhelming.
To top it all off, shortly after paying, both my girlfriend and I began experiencing stomach discomfort, which left us questioning food safety at the restaurant.
While the service was good, the food experience was unfortunately one of the worst we’ve had in Santa Cruz. I hope this was an isolated incident, but I would caution others to manage their expectations if they choose...
Read moreYour attention, please! ☕ lovers, you have THE place where you can sigh and grin. It is right here in Puerto Ayora (on your way back from Charles Darwin Scientific Station). Colombian and Galápagos organic brews are available; espresso o filter (for the Galapagos coffee is better. Trust the coffee experts). Do you like it cold, frozen, mojito espresso (yes! see the pic below) or honey aeropress (ginger, aeropress, vodka and more)? They have it, waiting for you. The bakery is good (it can better), there are vegan options (a carrot, almond flour and milk cake). The sandwiches are also good, but they can be improved too. Souvenirs and coffee to spoil yourself or your loved ones are also for sale. The service is super friendly, English is spoken and coffee experts at your service. Knock, knocking on ☕...
Read moreI'm not one to typically give bad reviews but this place! We visited one day when it was busy, ordered two simple coffees. And after 15mins I went up to inquire where they were. I was assured they were on the way. 10mins later I went back up and they had lost or forgotten the order. We had to be at a tour so I requested my money back and left. I understand things like this can happen so I let it go and didn't give a bad review. I came back to the place 2 days later and it was empty, no other customers and 2 servers. Ordered 2 simple coffees again and some cookies and it took 30mins to get the coffees. And they forgot the cookies. Moral of the review is they display a fancy setting and show but have terrible service. And the coffee was average at best. My advice would be...
