This hotel has only very basic services which do not include some of the amenities listed. It’s true phones and alarm clocks are obsolete but their information should be accurate and up to date. Also the “seating area” consists of a chair. |Room is very basic- not much for amenities but the beds were comfortable. There were ants in the room which wasn’t the best. AC mostly worked but remote maybe needs a battery change. No mini fridge, coffee maker etc. Bare bones.|Hotel grounds are nice. There is a hammock and a couple of chairs to sit just outside of the room. Very friendly dog.|Breakfast was also very basic. I have a gluten allergy which they made me a sort of pancake the first day which wasn’t bad; something (maybe plantain) the second day which wasn’t good; and the third day they gave me bread which I couldn’t eat. Coffee was weak; ran out of the tea I liked. Pineapple was very good.|We asked for a late check out on our final day which was allowed until noon. However at 11 the cleaner told us our late check out meant we could sit in the lobby until noon but we had to be out of our room. Not our understanding of a late check out.|Overall, this is an ok place if your standards aren’t too high. The checkout process was very disappointing. We would not recommend or...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at Lava house for 5 nights. We immediately felt welcome and at home. The family run hostel has a beautiful courtyard and covered area you can sit to eat, read and relax. The location is about a 10 minute walk to the city center in a quiet neighborhood. They were able to accommodate food allergies each morning at breakfast, which was really great. The rooms have their own ac unit and comfortable beds. The hot water was unpredictable and a few cold showers were taken. It could have been that everyone was using the hot water at the same time, it's hard to say. The wifi was a bit spotty but I'm guessing the entire island would be similar. Since we were there to explore it wasn't a major issue for us. I would return and stay at Lava House! We truly enjoyed our...
Read moreThis bed and breakfast is quaint, clean and very friendly! Isabel, Michele, Javier, Andres, Lava the dog, along with the baby Aliesa we’re all so helpful, friendly and made you feel like family! The rooms were large, clean and had everything we needed. For young people it is a close walk to the main street. Us older folks took the $1.50 taxis each way and it was great! All the taxi drivers know where Lava House is in town! It is also close to the Charles Darwin Center. For young people close enough to walk for us older folks taxis work great getting there. The family also helps you with wonderful places to eat, and other things you can do. I highly...
