4.5 starts here. Two-level, open-air dining spot that was an excellent dining experience. Modern, stylish dark wood and black metal décor is very inviting. Open kitchen for viewing the hard-working staff. The design allows for a cooling breeze from the bay to flow thru most of the seating. Very nice. Staff was convivial and mostly easy to converse with using our rudimentary Spanish. Three meals a day available here-they open at 8 am. Full bar allows for lots of options. We enjoyed dinner on our visit. The menu has many choices-seafood, poultry, beef, pastas, etc. After perusing the menu decisions were made-a grilled chicken Caesar salad for my beloved and the Pahoehoe Risotto for myself-risotto with wild and portobello mushrooms topped with grilled tenderloin steak and pesto “tears” as the menu described. After ordering we were presented with a small basket of warm, fluffy rolls with a serving of a mild, tangy, melted cheese set in a Chinese soup spoon. Both delicious. The salad had the ubiquitous fresh greens-not just romaine-plus a nicely grilled piece of chicken breast. Topped with shaved parm and an interesting relish-origin unknown. Pronounced as “really good”. My risotto was outstanding-one of the best dishes I enjoyed in the islands. Perfectly cooked rice, deep mushroom flavor with large pieces of portobello’s, and just past rare grilled beef. The pesto tears turned out to be more like a significant spread of pesto/chimichurri. Didn’t add much but took nothing away from it. All the flavors melded together into a fantastic profile. Every bit was enjoyed. Clean plate club. As you enter the restaurant you see a refrigerated dessert case displaying many luscious looking choices. We decided to give in and try some. A chocolate mousse dish with Oreos and Bailey’s and a cake-Selva Negra. Chocolate cake layered with Amaretto mousse and cherries. Similar to a black forest cake. Not earth shattering but very tasty. This meal was one of-if not the-best we enjoyed across the three islands we visited. Highly recommended.

From the outside the place looks really, really great. Modern, great atmosphere & every evening packed with people. Actually, there are a lot of reasons why this place should be rated as five stars BUT also some reasons that brought us to „only“ four stars: 5 STARS - By far the best food we had in Santa Cruz for western kitchen - There was always a small snack as starter for free (e.g. bread with olive oil or potato chips) - it was very clean (restaurant & bathrooms) 4 STARS - the service was all three times we went there not 100% (waited 20min for ordering, inconsistent quality of service) - they really try but there seems to be no real “logic”

Super touristy location near the piers, and yes you’re surrounded by tourists, but it’s the place where you get decent food and service here, with a clean bathroom; without getting out of your comfort zone too much. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of food served. Hence — Recommend to eat here if you’re having your first day (to “acclimatize”, with an English menu), or your last day (to wind down and chill) in Santa Cruz. They seem to have decent happy hour as well. Staff were alright — mostly young and giving a vibrant vibe.

This is the place to go if you want the waitress and manager to make you cry. Our table ordered three drinks: the 2x$10 Moscow mule promotion and one additional drink. There was a simple misunderstanding and our table received only two drinks. You might expect the restaurant to swiftly remedy the situation and deliver the remaining tasty beverage. But alas! Instead the waitress rudely declared that it was our fault (we just wanted our drink, so who cares whose fault it was?). The bartender eventually brought the third drink, and we enjoyed the rest of our meal. The waitress waited until after we had finished eating to deliver a final (fourth?) drink which we had not ordered. When we said as much, she proceeded to lecture us and insisted that we had to accept the drink we did not order. The manager then approached and opined (in your best impression of an adult who never grew out of his childhood bully phase), “wherever you go in the world, happy hour is for one person. Two-for-one only applies if you are alone - you cannot share two drinks with two people. I have been to Paris, I know how it works!” We were more perplexed than anything, and simply asked for the bill so we could leave in peace. The manager and the waitress continued to verbally berate us until one of our party, moved to tears, had to excuse herself from the restaurant. I am really more shell shocked than upset - never in my life have I witnessed someone being this rude, and the manager of a restaurant no less! Stay away if you don’t want to get accosted by angry humans! Passion fruit cheesecake was...

Not happy with this place and I would not recommend. We placed our order at 7:40pm and got our food at 9pm. I ordered the sugar cane liquor and it came with lemon seeds inside. I drank those seeds by mistake and started coughing. Waiter came back and took the drink back and took out all the lemon / lime. Drink reduced to half its size. WHO LEAVES seeds inside the drink in the first place ???

Alot of their staff didn't speak English at all. Not even a little. It was hard to communicate with them

Service not good.

And a tip is already I included in the bill, so you don't have to tip extra!

To make things worse there was a "stander by" person outside, watching us and everyone at the restaurant. He came in a few times, walked around inside, got some coffee and walked back outside. He sat across the street on the bench and continued to watch. Then he came bAck to the restaurant a couple of times. The restaurant staff allowed it. Maybe they knew him? He was old and creepy! Made us feel really...
