I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon ØY, this amazing restaurant on my first day in Santa Cruz. It immediately became clear that there's no point eating anywhere else on the island! So, that's what I did: returned here day after day. Julio, one of the owners is the heart and soul of this lovely place, he will make you feel like an old friend and his passion for great food will definitely inspire you. I've had a delicious breakfast that included grilled vegetable hummus sandwich, mango juice and moccacccino with almond milk. The deep fried cod is legendary, but the shrimp gyoza, sesame chicken or pumpkin with pesto & almonds are also excellent dinner/lunch options. Oh, did I mention that you can choose half portions, too? Thank you, Julio, for creating such a cozy, beautiful atmosphere, sophisticated & delicious food and especially thank you for the warm welcoming human connection, which in my opinion truly elevates this place to the highest level. Oy—vey, this place is divine! From the moment we arrived at ØY in Puerto Ayora, the vibe was elevated and inviting with stylish décor, impeccable service and a menu that cleverly draws from island-produced seasonal ingredients  .

The white bean hummus was delicious, flavorful and perfect for sharing, while the chicken dish? Truly outstanding, expertly seasoned and paired with great sides that showcased the chef’s finesse.

Interestingly, ØY is led by Chef Cristian Puente, the renowned Ecuadorian culinary maestro who also heads the Evolution Restaurant at Pikaia Lodge . His signature fusion of local Ecuadorian ingredients with creative global techniques truly shines here.

Having been here for a week, this is, by far, the best restaurant in the Galapagos. It deserves a Michelin star. The owner is truly passionate about everything he does in the restaurant, and this elevates the entire experience. The food, the service, the atmosphere – everything is top-notch. I came here two nights in a row because I wanted to try as much of the menu as possible, and I was very impressed with everything I ordered. Beautiful presentation and amazingly delicious flavours, not to mention the knowledgeable owner informing me about the ingredients and recommending great kombuchas.
