I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon ØY, this amazing restaurant on my first day in Santa Cruz. It immediately became clear that there's no point eating anywhere else on the island! So, that's what I did: returned here day after day. Julio, one of the owners is the heart and soul of this lovely place, he will make you feel like an old friend and his passion for great food will definitely inspire you. I've had a delicious breakfast that included grilled vegetable hummus sandwich, mango juice and moccacccino with almond milk. The deep fried cod is legendary, but the shrimp gyoza, sesame chicken or pumpkin with pesto & almonds are also excellent dinner/lunch options. Oh, did I mention that you can choose half portions, too? Thank you, Julio, for creating such a cozy, beautiful atmosphere, sophisticated & delicious food and especially thank you for the warm welcoming human connection, which in my opinion truly elevates this place to the highest level.
