10/10 Experience. Best pyramids view, High standard rooms, best service and kind personnel.
Arriving at the Airport we were granted a complimentary transfer to the hotel. Our luggage was brought up to the 13th floor and even into our rooms, the late check in was smoothly aswell.
The room was tidy and clean and had everything you would need. The pyramids view is stunning on day- and nighttime.
The manager Mr. Ashraf did everything to fullfill our needs, he even called us in the morning regarding the breakfast. Also there is an option to order food from outside to the hotel, the juices are extraordinarily good and definetely worth a try.
Mr. Ashraf talked with us about the tours and gave us recommendations for what to visit in three days. We came to a decision and started the tours the following days. The tours come with a private guide, so no big tours with other people, everything goes in the pace that you want.
The day after we were introduced to our guide Mohamed, with a masters degree in the cairo tours he was perfect for our adventures. He is a very kind person you enjoy having a laugh with. His knowledge about cairo history is enormous and he even got some sweets for us. Under extreme conditions he managed to get us around safely through the crazy traffic in cairo. We even visited some extra places recommended by the hotel, one perfume store that served you free tea or coffee, and a cotton store aswell as a papyrus museum with free drinks too. This was very refreshing as the temperatures outside were really high.
Also, the tours were perfectly planned, Mohamed did everything so we could relax and not being bothered by struggling with getting tickets to the pyramids area, the sphinx, sakkhara, memphis and the pyramids light show or any language barrier. We really could just relax and enjoy the tours! Nothing to worry for, everything was nice and perfect. Lunch was included to every tour, we had amazing food at nice restaurants. Plus having an air conditioned car at these temperatures was great, also it was a new car not like most of the cars you will see driving through cairo.
We were concerned about getting a PCR test that we needed for our following journey as it is quite a struggle to manage this online if you dont speak arabic. After asking Mr. Ashraf he gave us the perfect solution. He organized a doctor that was coming to the hotel performing the PCR test, and on the same day in the evening we had our certificates printed out. Additionally we could receive it as a document for our mobile phones. 5 stars for service!
Speaking about service, Mr Ashraf asked us every day what time we‘d like to take our breakfast and even called us a few minutes before to remind us. Starting the day with Mr Ashrafs kind voice wishing us „good morning brothers“ is what I‘d like to hear every morning.
Whenever we were around the hotel area he made sure that everything is fine. We received several complimentary things like snacks, tea and coffee, etc.. The rooms were cleaned daily and we received two free water bottles every day. Also the whole area was covered with WiFi.
If you have any worries or need something you can ask Mr. Ashraf and he will surely find the best solution for you!
I would recommend this hotel anytime, no matter if you stay for a short period or for longer time, Mr. Ashraf and his team will make sure that you will have everything you need. It is all about service, service and then money, not like all the other hotels where its just about money, money and money.
If you decide to stay at this hotel you really must take the guided tours with Mohamed, we are so glad that we did it!
Thankful that we spent the time at Khan DuiDar and gained two new friends, Mr. Ashraf and Mr. Mohamed who both made our visit...

Read moreThe Khan Duidar is a true oasis amidst the vibrant energy of Giza. While the location may seem intimidating to the less adventurous, it offers an authentic experience in a typical Egyptian neighborhood, just a stone's throw from the Pyramids. As Americans, we were initially unprepared for the what felt like chaos on the street, but after four nights, we couldn’t have been more satisfied.||The view is exactly as promised—breathtaking. It felt like we could almost reach out and touch the Pyramids from the shared balcony. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and each morning we enjoyed a delicious blend of European and Egyptian breakfast on the shared balcony, all while soaking in the incredible scenery.||The rooms were impeccably clean and pristine, with modern amenities. The shower, complete with plenty of hot water and a bidet, was a refreshing way to rinse off the dust after a day of exploring Cairo like Indiana Jones. Though the bustling streets outside initially felt overwhelming, venturing out was a pleasant surprise. The nearby street food was both authentic and affordable, with delicious shawarma for two costing just four bucks. There’s even a local bakery just steps away.||While there was some construction that made navigating the side alley entrance challenging, the Khan staff were always in the lobby, eager to assist. Their 24/7 availability was unmatched.||If I could suggest one improvement, it would be the option for daily room service. We would have gladly paid for it, had it been offered.||Overall, the Khan Duidar was our peaceful retreat during our Giza adventure. Thank you, Khan Duidar, for making our stay...
