It's a good place to visit and see the history of papyrus. They explained & showed me how this paper is made from the special plant stem. If we cut and leave the stem in water for too long the paper will be dark, if we leave it for a shorter period it will be light in colour. After that the stems are let to dry in the sun. One way to identify a real papyrus and fake one is the real will have both horizontal and vertical stripes, whereas the fake one will have either vertical or horizontal stripes. If you fold the real papyrus it will not break and there will be no marks but whereas the fake one will break and have marks. They have variety types of design in these you can have for a single person, family, couples, father son, mother son, brother related design.they even have the one which if u switch off the light will glow in dark. These papyrus designs are available in various colours, type, sizes design. You can have names engraved on these in Egyptian alphabet. They will hand it over to you all the details as required. The one I bought has Egyptian Calendar in it. It shows 12 months, 24 hours in a day.various seasons, and various horoscopes in it. I got this one for my family. You can put it in a photo frame and post it. It will last a lifetime. Make sure you have some good...
Read moreVisitors Beware: The Pharaonic Papyrus Museum may not be what it seems. Despite its grand title, this establishment falls short of being a museum in the true sense of the word. Instead, it operates primarily as a retail space, specializing in the sale of what are presented as authentic papyrus art pieces. The authenticity and quality of these items, however, are a subject of concern, with many products priced highly despite questionable value.
What is most disheartening is the method of attracting unsuspecting tourists to this venue. It has come to light that substantial commissions are offered to tour guides and companies, incentivizing them to mislead visitors by promoting this shop as a legitimate museum. This practice not only misrepresents the nature of the establishment but also traps tourists into spending on items that may not be of the promised quality or authenticity.
I urge potential visitors to exercise caution and conduct thorough research before deciding to visit. The charm of exploring Egypt’s rich cultural heritage should not be overshadowed by such misleading tactics. There are plenty of genuine museums and shops out there that offer authentic experiences and products, deserving of your...
Read moreA tourist trap, all acting authentic but it is just a lie. Selling over priced pictures that are not even hand drawn but printed and 300% of actual price. May god help you and the guides that bring there tourists to cheat them. We actually still come to Egypt despite worold turmoil and bring money. Last time for me, vety dissapointing at how two faced people are. If you are offered a guide once you pay for your entry to the pyramids avoid any person especially the ones carrying a badge stating they work for the government and telling you you should not walk and have to take a camel ride. I paid a big price, so you can save money. You can walk anywhere on that site there are no restrictions, it is just a tactic to get tips and then drag you to this fake museum where some prints are sold at premium price and also they will take you to some perfume oil shop. Just say no many times, I should have been more direct. Needless to say I am very dissapointed and angry and this just made the trip to pyramids a not so enjoyable and unfortunately very expensive but...
