Sorry, but I would not order from here again nor I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Egypt and craving authentic italian pizza. My hotel was literally 6 minutes away, yet the pizzas were cold. I have had orders from further places before and they arrived blazing hot. When I placed my ordered I was reassured that it will arrive hot in an insulated bag. That never happened. I ordered one Margherita and was recommended to get the beef and burrata pizza. Bad choice! The burrata arrived in a separate container, inside a bag, and I had to empty the water (using my bare hands per instructions since I am in a hotel and don't have utensils) then place it on the already cold pizza. Yeah, no thanks! Definitely NOT the experience I was looking for. To top it all off, the order was not put in the register. I was handed a receipt without a breakdown of the prices of each item, meaning, as a tourist I was given a much higher price than on the menu/system. Paying 1173 EGP for ONLY 2 small, cold, orageno-less pizzas and a container of burratta is NOT acceptable! Never again.
Edit: after posting my review the owner of the restaurant had the audacity to contact me on WhatsApp @ 2 AM, being super rude and offensive, saying I was better off ordering from a kushary or fava beans (fool) cart from the street than ordering from his restaurant. Despite the fact that I would have truly had a better experience had I ordered from anywhere other than this restaurant.. But THIS awful attitude is such a disgrace to BOTH Egyptians AND Italians! Never during my visit to Egypt did I ever been ripped off AND treated in such a dismissive and even condescending way for voicing my honest opinion as a first-time (and last time) customer. Lacking basic courtesy and honesty in charging customers and having 0 people skills is a bad combination. It's true that the dining business is NOT suited...
Read moreChristmas Day nonsense!
On Christmas Day we wanted something different and perhaps European. Just to cut the story short: I asked for some drinks, I was told that red wine is grappa (!) therefore went for a safer option of a beer, which arrived in a small glass and cost a whopping 228 EP, where was the rest of the beer from the bottle I do not know. We were served a Greek salad that was not Greek in any shape or form; no feta, oregano, onion, tomatoes.. it was replaced with the same salad topped up with a bit of buffalo mozzarella and onion. Our mains were lukewarm fries (139EP) with tiny, 3 pieces of, supposedly, grilled fish (649EP) on stone cold plates. When asked they were replaced with the same. Waiting time for the food; almost 1.5h. Non existing service. We were offered a dessert on the house as an apology however nothing could have changed this poor experience. Still charged for all the food, almost 2500 EP. I would expect more from the high end place that supposedly...
Read moreIt's quite nice place 🙂 The stuff is really friendly and polite. Risotto was ok and chicken breast with veggies was really good. Thanks 👍
A couple of things which affected the overall rating: If you aren't smoking and can't stand this smell, you may be a little bit annoyed. We asked to change the table, but the smell still was hanging in the air. The entrance to toilets are in the same hall as tables. And please fix the door, because it's not easy to close without hitting it :) Handwritten bill Taxes and service tips are included in the bill, and also if you want to pay by card you need to pay 9 pounds extra. It's fine, but it would be great if I knew in advance how much money I need to pay. I haven't found that information in the menu. The table was served with 2 bottles of water which costs 3 time higher that their normal price. I have never seen that you must pay for water if you didn't order it. But maybe it ok local places. I will...
