Although the hotel is in a good location for the pyramids and sphinx. And the view is nice over looking the pyramids;
The actual area is run down and I didn't feel safe walking around the hotel. I would recommend only getting Ubers to and from the hotel. I was asked for money as soon as I left hotel . I tried to walk to sphinx / pyramids and was constantly harassed along the way. The shop next the hotel tried to entice me in each day which I didn't like.
The cleaners threw out important paperwork that I left on the side.. then the hotel changed me £5 to print 2 sheets of paper which was the fault of the cleaners. The door was also broken to the balcony but I never reported it as I could still lock it. The room however was clean and nice and bottled water was provided each day.
The roof top is nice too and a good breakfast selection. I was woken by speakers outside playing what seemed like morning prayers . This was very early and I really needed to relax, which I wasn't able to do throughout the few days I was there.
I wouldn't recommend staying in the area for a long duration, only to see the pyramids and would consider staying in one of the newer cities for longer durations and getting a Uber to and from towns as they are cheap in Cairo.
Overall It it felt like everyone was after money in Giza / Cairo, and this was very uncomfortable. I was unable to relax and enjoy my vacation. The energy was not nice atall. The traffic is very bad and there are no traffic lights. Most the people I met tried to scam me and I was nearly involved in two car accidents. I will not be returning to the area again and it was the worst travel...
Read moreI had a good stay, although I decided to leave earlier than planned for personal reasons. I arrived a day early and they were kind enough to welcome me before the scheduled time and also to pick me up at the airport, which is a free service they offer for those who stay more than 3 nights. My bed was ok, with clean bed linen and towels. The room was in good condition, but the bathroom had a cabinet door falling off, several rust spots on the metal in the shower, and a broken shower door, so when I took a shower it would get a little wet. I read several reviews saying that the plumbing smelled like sewage. The bathroom smelled a little, but it wasn't unbearable. I thought that was irrelevant, because I don't expect anything less than that in Egypt, because I know that their sanitary culture isn't the best. I found the breakfast options to be pretty bad. There were a lot of strange sausages to eat. Plain sliced bread and some hot things that I didn't even try because they didn't look very inviting. The receptionists are helpful and always answer any questions I had about things. I liked the service and also the two drivers who picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. The bathroom conditions could be better, I don't know if it was just my room or if the bathroom facilities in other places are also bad. Anyway. I recommend staying there for only 2 nights at most, especially since there aren't many things to do nearby. If you don't go to the pyramids, see the view from the terrace, which is beautiful, but beyond that, the area has nothing. A neighborhood with very little...
Read moreFor the price its a great hotel with a brilliant view of the pyramids from the rooftop lounge area. I arrived late around midnight and they sent me to another hotel for the night saying the room will be ready tomorrow, which was disappointing. When i did finally get the room that i actually booked it was great, clean, spacious, towels, shower gel, shampoo, good shower and bottled water provided with a pyramid view. Alot of noise at the hotel through out the night and at 6am crows and birds are tapping at the room window. There's not much around the hotel like places to eat, there's a restaurant at the hotel which was decent. There's small shop just outside the hotel if you need snacks and drinks.
The hotel offers excursions for trips out which i really recommend doing (maybe cheaper somewhere else), it would be really difficult to navigate around without a English speaking tour guide. For £100 it includes tour and entry into saccara pyramid which is 40min drive, the giza pyramids and menphis village, plus lunch at the hotel. Not bad for the amount of driving and entrys you get.
The tour guide Hima was excellent, showed all the great places to take pictures from and explained alot about the history of the areas and ancient Egypt. He didn't rush a thing and you can tell he loves his job, great guy. (5 stars for Hima)
The staff at the hotel are really welcoming and friendly. Be careful some of the baggage guys try to offer you stuff, always decline.
All in all for the price its a great room and close by to the pyramids with...
