An experience of a lifetime. Getting a chance to come here and witness this monument to man's determination is something I highly recommend. I was blessed to stay just outside the walls where the pyramids are located and I highly suggest it as waking up to the pyramids is transformative. Find yourself a local guide, someone who is very knowledgeable and well known in the area, he will get you good access and make sure you are well taken care of. Your guide should have his own camel or access to one, this is key. Having a chance to roam around the desert is priceless. Have him take you to find a good vantage point for pictures. The main problem, as for most of Egyptian tourist objectives are the people trying to sell you something for not a good price. Obviously, also near pyramids there are a lot of people chasing you to sell scarfs, camel rides etc. Don't get fouled by guys that have a badge - they start nicely by checking your tickets, then they show you 1 thing outside main interest area (a normal tomb for example), eventually they make you some pictures and they ask the price of the entrance (200 EGP!!), also getting offended if you offer them less. So, advice - say no to anyone or anything because all the interesting things are easy to find...
