This is a review based on my experience tonight. I am a British solo traveller and I have been in Cairo four nights. This is by FAR the best place i have eaten at.
Firstly I want to say the food is amazing and is cooked fresh. Be prepared to wait, why rush, escape from the chaos of Giza/Cairo.
Secondly this is a local restaurant and as such do not expect many tourists and respect the local traditions, embrace it. As such don't expect alcohol.
The views here are amazing at night (and I image in the day too) with the ability to clearly here the audio from the light show at the pyramids as well as seeing them obviously.
The staff here are so well mannered which can be rare for a tourist in a local restaurant, they don't obsess over you but do provide a top service. I took the time to thank the chef downstairs as well as his culinary skills were divine.
A shame I have to move on tomorrow from Cairo otherwise I would definitely be here...

This place is hidden at the end of the street (about 15m from where Tripadvisor shows it on the map btw - just around the corner). Don't be put off when you arrive, the area is a but nasty but once you get up the 3 flights of stairs you're obviously in a restaurant and shisha lounge.
The first time we went we were the only obvious tourists and were immediately made to feel comfortable and at home. The guys were friendly and helpful and brought us fabulous local food and then we saw the "sound and light show" which was free of course. I'd never pay to go and sit there when you can do it here instead. You get a fabulous view of the pyramids, lovely food.
So impressed we went back another day and had an equally...

Few tips: Good for couples & friends. Hookah isn’t allowed on the roof, but allowed on the 2nd floor’s balcony. They take a while to prepare your order, but that’s not a problem, they don’t have any ready food, and cook on-demand, even the fries! Sometimes people do birthdays on the roof, and it’s going to be very loud & noisy, and this happens a lot. Leave a tip, people likes it & get used to it there. Round up your bill to a large number 182 to 200, 320 to 350... Remember, they were used to deal with tourists before, so don’t stick to the penny. Additionally, if you don’t leave tips, give them the money and ask for the charge, they will get it to you without saying a...
