Rooftop 7000 — Restaurant in Giza

Dear Rooftop 7000 Management,

I am writing to raise a very serious concern about my recent visit yesterday at 8 PM. What I experienced at Rooftop 7000 was not just poor service — it was discrimination, racism, and neglect that completely destroyed what should have been a special evening.

The front desk woman hostess openly mocked Asian guests, saying “they process things so slow compared to others.” This is racism, plain and simple. As an Egyptian-American whose closest friends and chosen family in the U.S. are Asian, I was shocked and personally hurt to hear such comments in your establishment. This alone is enough to damage the credibility of your restaurant in the eyes of international guests.

Equally concerning was how I was treated as a guest: • Despite a confirmed reservation and a prior seating request, I was left waiting over 30 minutes in the heat without even a glass of water. • I was placed in the very back with a restricted view, while foreign tourists were prioritized with prime tables. • My table was ignored for nearly 2 hours before a waitress approached us. • Food was served in the final 30 minutes before closing, then literally snatched away exactly at 11:00 pm — while my companion’s plate was still almost full. • Requests for ice and consideration for a better table were dismissed outright, even when better tables existed.

This was not my first poor experience at Rooftop 7000 — last year I had to argue for decent seating. The fact that the same issues occurred again shows this is systemic, not accidental. I had only one good experience in the past, that is why I returned this year during my visit to Egypt. I was hoping things got better. No, I am embarrassed.

I left your restaurant feeling humiliated, disrespected, and unwelcome in my own country. For me, Rooftop 7000 was supposed to be a place to create a meaningful memory — instead it became an experience I never want to repeat.

I urge you to understand that this level of treatment is not just disappointing — it is reputation-destroying. Best of the Best Food in Cairo as in all of Egypt is a game of hit and miss. I specifically booked this Hotel, "Great Pyramid Inn" because of the food reviews. Rooftop 7000 is an oasis in a sea of chaos that Cairo can be. A bite of my first meal and I knew, finding a decent meal in Giza was answered. The appetizers are good, the pasta selection is good, but they excel with their grill selection and the desserts don't disappoint. You won't find a 100 LE meal here, but what you pay for is safe quality food at a very fair price.

Ambience: Quiet, Relaxed, Welcoming in a somewhat chic Egyptian way. And the view is simply spectacular with the Pyramids in the background.

Staff: The serving staff is exceptional. There is none of this "hand-outs" waiting for tips that is present, everywhere else in Cairo/Giza. Service is professional, courteous in a very friendly way.

Stand outs:

Hany: the manager does a great job, setting the tone and the image of the restaurant. He's friendly and always introducing himself, while checking to make sure standards are met and customers are happy.

Rania: morning supervisor. Warm, friendly. Goes out of her way to make sure, you're comfortable and feel welcomed.

Eslam: Friendly, patient. Always checking if your meal is good and is there anything else needed.

Omar aka Mohammed: The happy, go lucky youngster. He like the rest of the staff, work hard at making sure the guest are comfortable. His character shines while he works. He's friendly and good at his job.

Final Words If you want to stay overnight or just have a meal? Rooftop 7000 is the place. Unlike many other restaurants who have few and fake reviews. Rooftop earned it's rating as one of the best restaurants in Giza on Tripadvisor.
