Glass resort @glass_resort We chose the Glass resort because of its location (about 3-minute walk to Santa Claus Village) and the apartments are set in a small forest. Upon arrival at the airport, a car was waiting for us, which took us directly to the reception(about 10 minutes). The apartment was ready and the staff explained everything to us. Welcome gift-multifunctional scarves and a gift box with a sleeping mask and earplugs. There was a coffee machine with accessories in the apartment and very small selection of drinks in the minibar.Water is tap water (it is one of the cleanest waters in the world). On the ground floor there was a kitchen with equipment, a bathroom with a sauna(toiletries are available, but no body milk-you can BUY one for more than 20 euros) and a living room,in which a sofa was prepared as a bed for children and a table with chairs. We went up a steep spiral staircase to the floor where there was a very small bedroom with a glass ceiling (the glass can be heated).Walking down the stairs at night is quite dangerous. There is a tablet in the apartment through which you can communicate with the reception.Whirlpool is outside the apartment. There was only one wardrobe and one small cabinet for clothes, which is too little when you want to stay here longer with family. The cleaning is between 2-4 p.m.After breakfast,we asked for earlier cleaning(until 2p.m.) because we wanted to relax in the sauna and whirlpool afterwards.Unfortunately, the apartment was cleaned, but we didn't have towels changed,so we still had to wait.In addition,we had leaky pockets on the bathrobes, from which the card(key from the apartment)fell out when we went to the whirlpool, and if we had not asked for a change of slippers,we have wet and dirty slippers(from the outside path to the whirlpool)the whole stay.We booked our stay with breakfast, which was in the Gallis restaurant near the reception. It is also possible to have dinner at Gallis restaurant(you can read more about dinner at Gallis restaurant in our next review).Breakfast was local and delicious. The selection was standard. We definitely recommend trying reindeer meat salami, small smoothies, smoked fish and homemade bread. At the end of our stay,we kindly asked to check out at 12:00(only 1 hour later),but the staff did not allow us to do so.The resort has great potential, but it really should work on services and details.More on @larmarluxury.

We visited the Glass Resort in the. beginning of Dec. + Cleanliness The rooms were super clean and very new! I am very particular about fabric furnitures and toilets but the furnitures are super clean and the toilets are new and clean too. The counter top for the kitchenette was spick and span. + In room Sauna Room The in room sauna room is perfect! We booked this hotel specially for the sauna room because of its privacy! The Sauna room is super clean and i loved the design of it with enough space for at least 4 pax and a pot of coal sitting at the corner for more steam if needed. The sauna did not feel claustrophobic at all and i like that it is located inside the toilet, so we can just take a shower right after (a cold bath as per recommended by some website) + The bed The bed was soft enough for me without giving me any backaches. The view (albeit the night we were there was cloudy and raining) it was still very serene seeing the spruce/pinetrees outside the ceiling to floor window. With the bedroom at level 2, it was a cosy space perfect for a couple. What i didnt like about the place are: - Location Although is located in santa clause village, but it was located nearer to the outer circumference of the village. Having to drag our luggage from the main info centre wasnt the easiest task esp when it was raining. It is a little incline and a distance away from the snowman world which proves to be hazard when it gets so cold and rainy, the path from the hotel to the village is practically ice making it impossible to visit the village (esp the going downhill). - Value for money i dont think this is exactly worth the price we paid but we stayed here because we were not driving and this was the only available accommodation to access the Santa clause village (but only when it is good weather). - TV size The TV very small (IMO) and far from the sofa area making it hard to watch the TV. Maybe it is meant for background music and just for us to enjoy the space. - Stairs the spiral stairs to the bedroom is aesthetic apt but its not the most practical. The widest part of the step is really narrow and going up and down is kind of a hassle. All in all, a good experience but i would probably stay somewhere else the next time!

This has to be one of the best hotels we have visited! We arrived and were greeted kindly and told about the hotel and the village nearby. The service in the hotel was outstanding and this made our stay that much better…Next we went to visit the village (Santa’s Village) - this village was heaven on earth for children and adults alike, with plenty to do…There were animal experiences - Reindeer Riding, Husky Sleigh Riding and animal encounter farm…There were multiple Great restaurants with interesting and traditional cuisine and food. And fun activities such as the snowman’s world - This includes an ice bar, restaurants and fun activities. Back to the point - The Glass Resort! After visiting the town we were escorted by a hotel employee to our room, and advised how everything worked. They turned on the sauna and hot tub(outside in the snow). The room was eco-friendly and modern with great views of the snowy forest. It had comfortable and warm beds and a nice bathroom and sauna. The hot tub outside was great with amazing views. Finally, compliments to the chef! Wow, the menu, food and presentation was outstanding serving fine dining options made with local and available ingredients from Lapland (expertly served by Viktoria!). All the waiters were good too. Arsha was also an outstanding and kind waiter. EVERYTHING WAS BRILLIANT!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ WOW 🤩 Thanks You Glass Resort for our amazing experience at your resort :)

We (family of 5) just spent the week leading up to the Easter weekend at the Glass Resort and would really like to praise the team -- an overall exceptionally joyful and relaxing stay.||While the resort is located close to (behind) the Santa Claus village, the layout has been set up in a way that means the location still feels secluded and private. The entrance to the resort area is thru a driveway that leads to the reception / main building on the right hand side. The restaurant is also located in this main building (and thus you take breakfast and dinner unless you stay in the Premium lodge, in which case you can opt for the chef to prepare your meals in the lodge). From the reception, a walkway in a slightly roundabout / courtyard style leads around two rows of (regular) bungalows, each of which contains two rooms. Given the proximity of each room pair, they are very good when sharing among members of a family or close friends -- the doors are literally only two steps away (but you do have to step outside). We used two rooms to split ourselves up and found this very convenient. The view from the rooms is into the woods, which we found very nice.||Each room has its own sauna -- that was our absolute highlight to relax after a day out on excursions, and a hot tub next to the cabin. For those who want to prepare some light snack in between, there is a kitchen in each room as well, equipped with a fridge and stove, cutlery and dishes so if one wants there is good ability to prepare a pasta or a salad. Coffee and tea are also available (complimentary). The downstairs area comprises living room and bathroom and then there is a master bed upstairs. Overall, we felt the room was very nice, perhaps a bit on the smaller side but sufficient if you either travel as a pair / couple or spend time outside on excursions. It's probably not a setting you would want to spend your entire day in over a week -- but clearly, then, almost no hotel room is ...||The restaurant is stylish and the quality excellent. There is a buffet breakfast, offering a variety of choices from hot and cold dishes, sweet and sour, muesli and eggs, cheese, meat, fish, fresh fruit, bread and smoothies/juices. While we soon had our favourites, we also found something new to try every day. Your choice of drinks is served by the team -- our special thanks to Emma, who was particularly caring of us during our stay.||The evening menu offers a choice of starters, mains and dessert with the possibility for kids to pick from a separate child menu. Again we found the choice excellent, working our way thru steak, reindeer, whitefish and other excellent picks. The quality of the food is really very high. Perhaps a small note for improvement might be that the kids portions are a bit small for older kids / teenagers. We have found, though, that the staff were very accommodating when we asked for larger portions for our youngsters. The team are extremely kind and good spirited, it's an international group from a number of countries and that makes for a lovely setting with great conversations between courses.||Rounding things off are our comments about the team at reception, who are really just great as well. We arrived very early in the morning on the overnight train from Helsinki and had an excursion booked at 2:00 pm the same day. Our travel agency had neglected to mention (and I also overlooked) this would normally mean we would have no room ready upon arrival and thus no ability to shower/change. The resort team were super nice and managed to let us into one of our rooms by lunchtime, which was incredibly helpful to get everyone into warm winter gear for the Husky safari. Throughout the stay, the team was always extremely kind to us, very helpful in assisting to change reservations and just super super kind. It made such a difference and we really felt very much at home.||Overall, as said in the beginning, an extremely nice stay, we can only speak in the highest tones about the Glass Resort and would give a wholehearted recommendation to everyone...

This is a small exclusive resort located behind Santa Claus village about 6km's outside of Rovaniemi. ||Arrival: The hotel provided a inclusive pick up service if you arrive/depart by air and the staff were waiting at the airport arrivals area holding a sign for Glass resort. Driver very helpful and carried/loaded bags etc. On arrival at reception check in was quick and efficient and receptionist explained what was included in the package we had booked. Driver took us to unit and brought in the bags and showed us around the unit. Explained how to use the sauna and hot tub and also how to use the window heat to ensure the snow melted of the glass roof. ||Room: The unit itself is attached to another but provides total privacy. Sauna located in the bathroom along with shower, toilet and washbasin, with loads of room. Heaps of towels and amenities. If you need extra reception/Housekeeping provided request for extra towels in minutes. Big lobby area including a small kitchenette with dishwasher, fridge, cooker, crockery etc for 4 people etc. We did not use it but can see its value to a family group. Plenty of space for open bags and cases. Living room large and floor to ceiling glass on rear wall. In our case looking out onto forest with occasional reindeer walking by from Santa Claus Village. Table and chairs, cushions sofa and lots of space. Spiral staircase to glass roofed bedroom with large double bed, plenty of power points including USB ports etc. Hot tub outside the unit and private, screened and situated to provide privacy. Glorious on a cold starry night. Loved it. ||Restaurant: was great and the breakfast in the morning was very comprehensive with abundant hot and cold choices. Good coffee. Evening menu choices are interesting (Finnish trad) and varied. Would really recommend the Artic Char starter and the Reindeer meat main course. The sorbet with liqueur is a good choice for dessert, although there were plenty of different choices. We ate four evening meal here and they were excellent. Staff and service were on point and attentive. ||Plenty of facilities and attractions close by and we went snowmobiling and also husky driving. Santa Claus Village is literally a 3-minute walk and interesting although. very commercial, but young children would love it. ||Standard of service was very high and we found the staff, from a variety of cultural backgrounds, very amenable and helpful, efficient, attentive and friendly. Quality of the food was excellent. ||Additional drinks and extras not included in the package were reasonably priced and we expected to pay for these extras. Not a problem for us. ||The only noticeable issue was that a number of guests had small children and they could be very noisy during dinner. Suggestion would be that under 12...

There's so many 'unique' accommodation options in the area, however as we only had our car for part of our trip and were flying our of Rovaniemi we decided to stay at the Glass Resort based on the excellent reviews and close to airport location. ||Easy to book online, and great pre-arrival communications from staff answering our queries. ||Our driver picked us up in a 'luxury' minibus at the time we booked and was extremely friendly and offered lots of advice. We arrived at the Glass Resort, and alothough earlier than checkin time, were quickly handed our key and the driver loaded our suitcases on to a sledge and pulled them to our accomodation. ||I'd previously emailed to ask for room 7B, and they'd kindly given us this room. |Upon arrival our driver took us around the back of the igloo to show us how to use the hot tub. He then took us inside and showed us the essentials of our room. ||Wow! It is just stunning!|You enter and on the left was a large bathroom with toilet, shower and sauna (the shower has aromatherapy oils when you start it). ||There is a kitchenette with coffee maker, fridge, hob, kettle, dishwasher, crockery, glasses, cups amd plastic ware for use outside. There is also a small wardrobe for clothes which had three robes, three pairs of slippers and a safe. There is a tablet that you can use to order room service or essential items and also chat to reception. ||You then walk through to the 'living area" with full floor to sky windows. There is a chair, dining table for four people, sofa bed and a TV. A spiral staircase takes you up to the main bedroom, with a large velux window and the most stunning views from the glass windows. There's even a button to press in the room to clear Snow from the windows. ||Sadly it was too cloudy both nights for us to see the Northern lights however it was still a mesmerising experience laying in bed looking out at the beautiful Finnish scenery. ||The outside hot tub was amazing, there's something wonderful about sitting in a hot tub surrounded by snow, watching the reindeer pull the sledges behind you. ||We booked on the DB&B rate at the Gallis restaurant (reviewed separately). The restaurant is beautifully decorated, small and intimate with floor to ceiling glass windows. Breakfast consisted of half a dozen hot options, from memory sausages, bacon, eggs, pancakes and porridge. There was also lots of cheeses, hams, pastries, muffins, cake cereal, yoghurt, sourdough bread (which I overheard them say was made in house), jams, honeys, and a few location Finnish delicacies. It was a great selection and tasted amazing! ||This was a bucket list experience for me and it exceeded my expectation. I would highly recommend staying at the Glass Resort to anyone looking for a unique stay when...
