I've been there 7 years ago and met all those amazing people at the Santa Claus Reindeer park.
Our first encounter was kinda funny because I arrived late at night in the forest so was looking for a place to pitch my tent because I knew the village was nearby somewhere... Next morning I wake up because I hear bells... Not thinking much of it I get ready to go outside and I start washing myself with snow... All a sudden I hear those bells again and there a few Reindeer's pull a sledge behind them... And the driver and their two guests look at me... I guess it must have been looking rather odd... Me camping out there under a tarp washing myself with snow...
But I've stayed there for three nights and got to know them better.
Now 7 years later I decided to deviate from my route through Sweden and pop back in to say hallo 😀
This time I got to feed the reindeers and play with a young one... That was really fun, like having a big dog 😀
These are the most beautiful and friendliest people you can meet in your life and the reindeers are definitely a plus as well so if you are near definitely go visit them!!!
I know I will be back there some day for sure!!! Just let's hope it doesn't take...

There was no queue when we went, which is late in the day, hence no queue.
We did the around the track 400m reindeer ride, the ride took around five minutes, the reindeer was walking at a slow pace, so it was nice and relaxing, we enjoyed it.
Our only mistake was doing it late in the day, at 4pm, it was already dark and the certain sections of the track doesn’t have enough lighting, so it was rather dark, if you’re taking photos or videos it won’t look as good. It definitely lessen the magical feeling we were expecting, I would recommend others to do it earlier during the day.
The 400m ride i believe is the most affordable pick, and is good enough for an intro. We would have opted for longer rides 1km ride or the 3km ride into the forest, which is more expensive but in my mind this will be very magical, unfortunately it wasn’t available yet in late November.
At the end of the ride, the staff help us to take some photos, he was nice...
Read moreIn summer I was there for the third time and during the stays in Rovaniemi I went there at least two times. The price of 7 Euros is not too much. We could stay there as long as we wanted, could feed an touch the reindeers. Such a great experience! Last year in September a wonderful and dedicated German woman called Ute worked there. She told us passionated everything we wanted to know about the reindeers. It was a special visit. Unfortunatelly she does not work there anymore but at our second visit we were lucky to meet her there in her freetime this summer. Reindeers are always cute and it is always worth a visit but a woman like the German Ute who really loves the animals and who can tell you so much about them has always to be there. She could enrich Santa...
