Napatapuli — Restaurant in Rovaniemi sub-region

Terrible food. I've had delicious reindeer meat few times in Helsinki earlier and was hoping even better here in Rovaniemi. We ordered the reindeer kebab. It was chewy, stale, smelly, old scraps of reindeer meat shavings which looked like ten year old spam. Tasteless and was barely edible. This is served in a very dirty squalid and filthy setting with gritty/ grimy floors and tables/chairs to unsuspecting once-in-a-lifetime visitors knowing full well that us wary and hungry tourists will not bother to ruin our experience of visiting this unique nature reserve by posting honest truthful candid review about this restaurant.

It's just a tourist trap to fleece the one time visiting tourists knowing full well they will never return again to Rovaniemi in their lifetimes from around all parts of the world. I'm surprised that the Management and the Rovaniemi authorities /food inspectors are not bothered to inspect and revamp this place despite such terribly unhygienic conditions which flout EU food health & safety standards and norms. The chef also needs to be inspected by authorities for flouting food quality/safety/cleanliness standards and keeping a very poor health and safety hyegenic standard around the whole restaurant visible very clearly to all. It's a terrible place with terrible food in a remote area which has many tourists who have no options. So it's a classic tourist trap run by untrained improper personnel fleecing unsuspecting tourists who have no recourse. AVOID...

Very kind and friendly staff! Food was served quickly! The food was unfortunately not good at all I am really not a sophisticated person and I eat everything, but the sauteed reindeer was really horrible. It tasted as if it was cooked three days ago, then frozen and then cooked again. Its a pitty, meat is destroyed like that. And I’m sorry for the staff having to read this review but I think that its a waste of resources. I still ate the whole plate despite it being very bad, just to not waste the food. So please, to the owner of the restaurant, allow your staff to do better! Since I know a restaurant is only as good as the owner allows it to be. Best regards to the staff! Keep it up! We visited Santa Village in autumn, and they're one of the few eating places stayed open, and we're thankful for that. The lady who served us was welcoming and friendly, and took time to show us the different food available.

They offer buffet and ala carte food. We went for the ala carte option as the buffet didn't look interesting, and ordered salmon soup and reindeer meat burger. Both dishes were substantial and filling, and tasted decent and freshly made. We enjoyed eating them. Price was as expected to be more on the touristy scale.
