Dining at Santamus was one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a warm, rustic atmosphere with beautiful decor that felt both luxurious and deeply connected to the Arctic wilderness.
The food was outstanding. The star of the meal was definitely the reindeer meat—tender, rich in flavor, and cooked to absolute perfection. It was a unique and authentic taste of Lapland that we’ll never forget.
Alongside the main course, there was a generous buffet-style selection of sides and drinks. The sides included fresh vegetables, potatoes prepared in different styles, hearty soups, and a variety of sauces that paired wonderfully with the meat. The drink options were diverse, with local flavors and warm beverages that complemented the meal perfectly.
The setting added to the magic—there’s even a small indoor stream and a cozy fire that make the whole experience feel like you’re dining in a fairy tale. The staff were friendly and attentive, always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our time.
If you're in the area, Santamus is a must-visit. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a full sensory experience that beautifully showcases the best of local cuisine...
Read moreGood for location and alternatives as Finland is challenging on the price point and Rovaniemi is touristy as inherently to the marketing of Santa Town. Went here with a tour that included the lunch special of €30, which is buffet for starter and desert and choice of main a la carte. The beef cheeks were supersoft and tender, the starter from buffet are ok-ish. Long line forms for large groups entering at once (primetime 12:00), desert is cake, cookies and cheese. Drinks not included but water, coffee and tear are included as country standard and much appreciated that it's not nickled and dimed here. Coke is reasonably priced (€4/0.5L). Atmosphere is "cozy" unless you're unlucky placet to the buffet-queue. Service doesn't have a hard job given that's mainly buffet, but what's done is solid, friendly and not short of a smile and some smalltalk. Recommended, but doesn't knock you off your...
Read moreWe visited Santamus in the summer and were impressed by both the atmosphere and the food. The outdoor setting was lovely with plenty of shade, and the highlight was definitely the open-fire salmon grilled right in the courtyard. The fish was smoky, tender, and served with potatoes, salad, and a smooth hollandaise sauce – simple but delicious.
We also took a look inside the wooden hall: high ceilings with log pillars, small pine trees for decoration, and even a little indoor stream. The cozy corner with red chairs, white furs, and a stone fireplace felt very festive, almost like Santa might walk in any minute.
Prices are on the higher side (around €20 for salmon), but the quality, atmosphere, and the unique Lapland experience make it...
