I don’t even know where to begin with this disaster of a hotel. If I could give it zero stars, I would.
First, the check-in process took an eternity. The receptionist looked like they had just woken up from a nap and barely acknowledged my existence. When I finally got my key, I took the world’s smelliest staircase up to my room—only to find that the door wouldn’t open. After jiggling the key card for five minutes, it finally worked, and I immediately regretted it.
The room smelled like a combination of mold, cigarette smoke, and something I can only describe as “wet dog.” The carpet had mysterious stains, the bed was as hard as a rock, and I’m pretty sure the pillows were just pillowcases stuffed with old newspapers. The bathroom? Don’t even get me started. The faucet leaked, the shower barely trickled water, and there were actual hairs in the sink that did NOT belong to me.
To top it all off, I barely got any sleep because the walls were paper-thin. I heard every single cough, sneeze, and questionable noise coming from the room next door. And let’s not forget the 3 AM fire alarm that went off for no reason, forcing everyone outside in their pajamas, only for the front desk to shrug and say, “Oops, false alarm.”
Breakfast? Stale bread and cold coffee. Housekeeping? Nonexistent. Staff? Ruder than a DMV employee on a bad day.
Honestly, I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car. Do yourself a favor—stay literally...
Read moreLovely hotel right in the center of Cannes. Wedged between the ocean on one side of the hotel and the main shopping strip on the other this hotel has everything you will need.
It’s a little oasis right in the middle of a hectic, busy, hot city. The pool is small but never gets too busy as there are less than 30 rooms.
You do need to book for parking in advance as they only have a few spaces. Parking is €19 per day and is directly under the hotel. There is a car park building across the street, not sure how much that costs. If you have a car I wouldn’t risk trying to find a park in the streets during summer as it’s very busy in central Cannes at that time.
The room is medium to small with a large ensuite that includes a bath. The air conditioning works really well and is very quiet.
For me breakfast was a little overpriced for what you got so we ate at the hundreds of little cafes dotted around the hotel.
There is no street noise as there are two sets of sliders. The old original set plus a new double glazed set in front of that. The only reason for four stars is that you can hear everything in the adjoining room. The TV, the discussions, the bathroom, everything can be heard from your neighbours next door so if you have loud people next door it may keep you up at night or wake you early. Other than that it was a great little hotel and we would...
Read moreI’ve been staying at Hotel Victoria over the past two years, visiting at different times, and it never disappoints. I don’t usually write hotel reviews, but this one truly deserves it. Every stay has been perfect.
The staff is exceptional—warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive to every detail. The hotel itself has a serene atmosphere, and the small pool feels like an exotic paradise, offering a perfect spot to unwind.
Breakfast is always a highlight, with a delicious and varied selection that we looked forward to each morning. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and provided all the comfort we needed to relax after exploring Cannes. The location is ideal, just a short 3-minute walk to La Croisette, making it incredibly convenient to enjoy the best of the city.
Hotel Victoria has become our favorite place to stay in Cannes, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit....
