Disappointing Experience – Repeatedly Treated Disrespectfully
We have now visited La Môme in Cannes four times – and unfortunately, the same disappointing pattern repeats itself every time: Despite clearly requesting an outdoor table during the reservation call, we are always seated indoors. We explicitly say that if no outdoor tables are available, we do not want the reservation at all – but this is consistently ignored.
What’s even more troubling is that it seems guests are seated based on appearance or perceived status. Every time we visit (usually around 11 PM), we’re told there are no tables outside, even though it’s clear that several are still available. And since the kitchen closes shortly after midnight, no new guests are coming – it feels like an excuse rather than the truth.
On our last visit, the situation escalated to something truly disrespectful and unacceptable. We had called ahead and once again confirmed that we wanted to sit outside. When my mother arrived first, the staff initially said a table was available. However, when my sister (a minor who cannot drink alcohol) and I (I appear to be of Arab background) showed up, the attitude changed completely. One waiter whispered to another, saying something like, “Put them inside” – clearly making assumptions based on how we looked and whether we would be ordering alcohol. This is completely inappropriate and discriminatory.
We tried to politely explain that we had been there before – even with our father, who knows the owner – and just wanted to remind them of which table we had sat at in the past. Instead of listening, the owner himself reacted aggressively, loudly scolding us in front of half the restaurant. He yelled that we shouldn’t point fingers at him, that he is 44 years old, and that our behavior was disrespectful – even though we remained calm the entire time. He spoke so loudly and stood so close that it felt threatening and humiliating. Everyone around us was watching the scene.
This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially for a restaurant of this supposed caliber. We did not feel welcomed, but instead judged, disrespected, and even discriminated against.
Final verdict: Definitely not recommended. The food is average at best, the service often arrogant, and the atmosphere is far from what you’d expect in a professional, high-end restaurant. There are plenty of better options in Cannes with great food and genuinely respectful service –...

From the moment I set foot in the sophisticated enclave of La Môme, I knew I was in for a treat. Nestled in the heart of Cannes, this establishment is not merely a restaurant but an experience par excellence.
The ambiance is the first thing that hits you. An upbeat environment greets you with a melange of warm lighting and upbeat music. It creates an immediate sense of elegance without feeling pretentious. The clientele reflects the stature of the place – chic, well-heeled, and in-the-know. Feels like stepping into a gathering of the who's who of the global elite, and yet the atmosphere is congenial, lively, and quite inviting.
As someone who's dined in countless upscale restaurants across the globe, I was genuinely taken aback by the unique table-changing method La Môme employs. After every diner, the staff doesn't merely clear the table – they replace the entire tabletop. This inventive approach ensures an unparalleled level of hygiene and provides a fresh canvas for each new dining experience. It's both efficient and dazzling, a conversation starter in itself.
Now, onto the pièce de résistance: the food. Every dish is an ode to French culinary craftsmanship, presenting traditional flavors in contemporary arrangements. The chef's prowess shines through in the way each ingredient is respected and highlighted. I opted for the tasting menu, a journey that began with a delicate amuse-bouche and culminated in a dessert that was nothing short of a masterpiece. The wine pairings, curated by their sommelier, were spot-on, elevating each course to new heights.
One must commend the service at La Môme. The staff moves with the grace of seasoned ballet dancers, attentive without being intrusive. Every need was anticipated, every whim catered to.
The evening at La Môme was more than just a meal. It was a celebration of the art of dining, where every element, from the ambiance to the food, comes together in perfect harmony. It's a testament to the fact that Cannes, known for its films, can also offer an Oscar-worthy dining experience.
In conclusion, if you're seeking a dining experience in Cannes that's as memorable as a Palme d'Or-winning film, La Môme should be at the top of your list. Indulge in its opulence and let the magic of this exceptional establishment sweep you...
Read moreThis restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel concierge. It was close to our property and I was looking forward to the meal, but was disappointed. We sat for approximately 15 minutes before anyone attended to us . The restaurant was clearly busy and maybe they were not expecting it, because the wait staff was limited. The drinks were good. Requested sparkling, and still water but did not receive them until after our drinks arrived and upon asking again; the salads and starters were good; My main lamb was undercooked and flavourless; my wife's pasta was not flavourful. Our daughter enjoyed her pasta dish. Our plates sat for 15-20 minutes at our table when we were finished and i had to request they be cleared.I requested a dessert menu and after waiting another 10 minutes I asked for the bill from our waiter. When presented with the bill he asked if he could add a tip to the bill for service. This was the first time on this France trip with two dinners in Provence that were Michelin starred , and two dinners in St. Tropez that were trendy but delicious that someone asked me for a tip; I usually tip 10-15 percent extra for the service but I did not feel like tipping for this meal and service. I told the waiter to add 5 % which I felt was generous under the circumstances. But I told him that the food and service were mediocre. This clearly bothered him as he told me that his service had never been called mediocre. Perhaps not his fault because of staff being less; but their were multiple opportunities to correct the service trend were not taken - the lack of service at the dessert time being the last straw for me. The food was lackustre for an organization that was a solid 4.3 on Google. Then the server made a comment that they are not a fast food joint. I was appalled at that comment and thought myself that this fellow must think very little of us to say something like this. We travel all over the world and travel 8-10 times a year . I pre pick all of my restaurants and love eating well. I dine at trendy and michelin establishments. How dare he make a comment like this. Don’t waste your time...
