We spent two nights at this hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms are reasonably priced even though it is centrally located and offers a great base for exploring the city. The hotel is located at the end of a covered shopping passage and is surrounded by countless restaurants, bars and shops. We had an economy room which was on the smaller side (which we were informed of upon booking the room) with windows facing an air shaft. All rooms appear to be equipped with a private bath (ours even had a full-sized tub) and other ammenities you would expect (flat-screen TV, safe, wardrobe, shampoo, shower gel, etc.). Our room looked as though it had been recently refurbished as the wallpaper was very bright and clean and everything in the bathroom was in good condition. The heaters work very well and our two nights in winter were cozy and warm. Overall the hotel was also very quiet at night.
The hotel offers a nice, optional breakfast for 10EUR. It includes fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, coffe/tea and freshly squeezed orange juice. The room is small but we were always able to find a spot to sit.
The staff was friendly and helpful, as was the owner of the hotel. There is also a hotel cat who roams the halls and seems to enjoy interacting with guests. Last but not least, there's also a less prominent but very sweet dog you'll sometimes see...
Read moreIt is not modern … it is not fancy, but this is what makes it unique. It’s homey, cosy, simple, classic and very pleasant. Staff is great, especially Irina at the reception. Reservation was easy, check in took less than a minute!! |Breakfast is continental, however rich. You can press your own orange juice. Fruit salad is fresh. Also there a couple of cheeses at the buffet, besides the Muesli and remaining choices of a continental breakfast.|Rooms are ok in size. Mind you, most small hotels in Paris have small/tiny rooms.|WiFi is ok but not the best. |There is a permanent guest here which is a friendly black cat. BTW the hotel is pet friendly.|From the moment you enter the passage till you reach the hotel, you get a taste of what to expect. The reception desk is small and antiquated. They still give you a real key with a heavy copper hanger (see photos). Time really stopped here since decades. We all loved it, even my kids.|Location: absolutely en pointe!!! The area is full of restaurants, some are GREAT (for example the Chartier, see separate review). A theater is right next door. Lots of local Cafes are around, but also the international brands (if you’d miss that!). Most of the places worthy of visiting are within 30 min. of nice walk. Otherwise a Metro and bus stations are at...
Read moreHotel is at the end of a gorgeous shopping arcade filled with fancy cafe and quirky shops.||Pros ||The staff were very friendly and helpful. ||The rooms were warm and clean.||The hotel was very unique and quirky. ||The location was excellent. Very central and close to the shopping area and plenty of bars and restaurants.||Cons ||The rooms were very basic. The bed was small for a hotel and the amenities were almost zero. A TV, fridge and a safe and that was it. However, I’m sure that is enough for many people. ||The shower wasn’t great, it was very low down and the water pressure was non existent. ||We were awoken by the noise in the corridors both mornings.||Overall||The pros outweigh the cons for sure. I wasn’t sure wether to give this hotel 3 or 4 stars BUT This is a 2 start hotel and doesn’t advertise its self to be anything that it isn’t. So based on that I...
