Before I start, know that this hotel is classified as a 3-star hotel. I gave it higher than 3 stars because it exceeded my expectations, but in my opinion is does fit in the 3-star class. The room was clean and though it was small it was a great little place to be as a break when exploring Paris. Water pressure and temperature were great considering we were on the 2nd floor (3rd floor by American convention). The room also had a nice balcony which had a nice breeze and was fun to sit on. It's near Notre-Dame, the Pantheon, and several metro stations so it's great for exploring Paris and the area felt safe even late in the evening. Service was super great and friendly. The receptionists all had great English, so if you need that you'll get by just fine. The only thing I didn't like a lot, and the only reason I didn't give the Claude Bernard 5 stars, was the breakfast. The eggs and bacon were undercooked in my opinion, but I took a peek and the staff did check the temperature, which suggests they were careful to meet the local food preparation laws. The baked goods , beverage, dairy, and fruit options to go with the breakfast were good though, but with the loss of the eggs and bacon I don't know that it was worth the additional cost in my opinion. All-in-all I would recommend this place as a great option for a hotel in the 3-star class! (Note to Americans: European elevators, especially older ones, are often much smaller than American elevators. This elevator fits 1 person well, 2 people if you know each other well, and 3 if you pack in like sardines. This did not decrease my opinion of the hotel, but I mention it as a heads up to my fellow Americans who may be unfamiliar with this particular design which is fairly common at least in parts of Europe)

First off, this is superbly situated for the Latin quarter, Sorbonne, Pantheon etc. On arrival, booked in with no hassle, and the gentleman at reception was friendly. The double room we had was small, and it has to be said the place is showing its age. Tatty round the edges but basically clean. We asked to be moved from our first room because of an incessant noise from the air conditioning unit even when switched off. A change of room didn't actually help so it must be an issue with the system. I slept the remaining nights with ear plugs. Our new room was actually worse, as the refrigerators only function was to shine a light on the items it was keeping warm for us. It's often said that it's the little things that make a difference. Our booking was for a double room for two people. Why then is only one cup supplied with the very poor stock of beverage facilities? See photo. This is basic and really careless. Yes the lift is tiny, I prefer to call it quirky. Have fun fitting the recommended maximum of three people in there though! This is described as a three star hotel, the staff are five star, but the hotel is two star at best. Well situated but that's the best I can say about it.

Disappointing Reality vs. Expectations - Our Stay at This St. Germain Hotel I booked this hotel six months in advance after reading promising reviews on Booking.com and taking advantage of a Genius discount. Unfortunately, the reality fell significantly short of expectations. The room we received was dramatically smaller than what was depicted in the online photos - a true disappointment after traveling all day. The ceiling paint was visibly blistering in multiple areas, suggesting maintenance issues. Most concerning was returning after a long day of sightseeing to find my pillow had been left on the floor and empty water bottles remained on the table from earlier room service. For a 3-star hotel in St. Germain commanding premium prices, this level of service and accommodation quality is simply unacceptable. While the location is convenient, I cannot recommend this property based on our experience. Future travelers should be aware of the significant disconnect between online representation and reality.

An Elevator, room frig, Air conditioning. We chose hotel for all the preceding amenities, hard to get in Paris. It was also close to Notre Dame and the Staff were exceptional. We arrived about 11AM and were given room keys immediately by charming gentleman on Reception. After long flights this was bliss. Will suggest also a benefit of booking an hotel which was obviously popular but not as manic as hotels at edge of Notre Dame are. |Our 5th Floor room was spacious and fastidiously clean. 2 sets of French Doors to Balcony indicated it was a more generous room too. Housekeeping gave us another suitcase rack for second suitcase which was very appreciated. The bathroom was a good size and had hooks to hang towels and bits. Shower was smallish but quite OK. Decor is spartan, Hotel White, but pleasant. Comfortable bed. An electric Tea kettle and very nice Tea. Our arrival in Paris coincided with early heat. 28. Fortunately the Aircon was powerful. The balcony had a table and 2 seats. The view was so fantastic we sat out with a Vin and fromage and didn’t eat out as intended. I’m a Balcony Tragic and that 1 was Award Winning. |In the large hotel foyer was a Guest Refreshments corner. The Lemon Water was so good after hours out in the heat seeing all the sights. |Perfect area as it is quite Residential so grocers nearby for food and wine. Lovely architecture and historical places along walks. Near The Sorbonne. Easy walk to...

It’s a lovely hotel that isn’t as modernized, but it is well maintained and clean, attractive lobby area, the rooms are well appointed and a good size, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are great with fantastic tubs/showers with great water pressure, and the service and courtesy from the concierge and staff at the front desk were fantastic. The location is great as well— in a safe area that my family walked around all hours of the day and even very late into the evening and never felt concerned. It’s walking distance to countless great restaurants and many sights; a big point of reference being the Seine and Notre Dame, which were maybe 8-10 mins away when walking at a very slow pace. It’s very close to the metro, other public transportation and the hop on and off bus route as well. The hotel offers a breakfast every day that we bought as part of our package and we loved it! Excellent continental options as well as hot dishes as well. Well worth the convenience of eating there before a full day exploring the city. When thinking of downsides, I think the only one being that the elevator is small and you’d have to take a couple trips if bringing a lot of luggage, but this wasn’t a hindrance to my family at all.||We will absolutely return in the future and would highly recommend it to family...
