This was my terrible experience booking a hotel through Agoda ( never do that!!!) First of all, the platform only shows good reviews I booked the hotel without checking it on other sites
But when you read what people write on Google Maps, it becomes clear the hotel is nothing like the description It was the worst hotel of my life The worst! Every bad review is true!
The only things that were okay: the location and the staff, who were fairly friendly Everything else was awful The hotel was dirty, the elevator didn’t work, the carpet on the stairs was full of dirt and sand. When you walk into the room, you immediately smell dampness The scariest part was the bathroom. Everything was broken. Mold. Strangers’ hair everywhere. On the beds too—hair on the sheets, hair on the floor. The bedding had stains. I checked in late at night, exhausted and incredibly disappointed. The night was horrible. You could hear every little sound from the neighboring rooms Even people peeing through the walls—and do other things….
The windows faced a courtyard where the kitchen vents turned on early in the morning, filling the room with cooking smells

Read moreWe spent one night in this hotel due to its proximity to the Eurostar station.||Positives:|Location is excellent. 5 minutes walk to Sacre-Coeur. 2 minutes to metro. 10 minutes walk to Moulin Rouge and Gare du Nord. Pleasant little park in the square over-looked by our room.|Good shower. Clean bathroom. Comfortable bed. Extra blankets if needed. Helpful staff. Kettle in room.||Negatives:|Bedroom very dusty. No bin in bedroom. |Beds, although comfortable were very rickety. Thankfully, my husband and I were very tired from travelling, as I do not think they would have stood up to any nocturnal shenanigans. |Although there was a kettle, there were no cups. I have looked up that it is normal for there to be no tea/coffee in 2* hotels in France, but giving a kettle with no cups seems to be taking the pee a bit.|There was only one small bath towel and a hand towel when we arrived. The young man on reception rectified this straight away when I asked for another.||I don't know if I would stay there again. It was not dreadful and it was clean enough once I dusted a bit. Maybe for a single...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and had a lovely time. The hotel met our expectations without really excelling in any particular department. ||Each one of the reception staff were polite and courteous and spoke good English. The room was clean if not a little tired and in need of a little TLC. The bed wasn’t particularly comfy but gave a reasonable night’s sleep. ||We didn’t try the breakfast, previous reviews had suggested it wasn’t amazing so instead we walked 2 minutes up the street to the supermarket. ||The hotel is in a good location. 5 minutes from Sacre Couer, 15 minutes from Moulin Rouge and 1 minute from Anvers Metro Station. If you’re heading to Disneyland, from Anvers you can get a train to Nation and change for the RER train to Marne La Vallee, the whole journey takes about an hour and the trains run regularly. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. ||Overall the hotel was ok, but there are almost certainly better out there. Still, there was nothing particularly wrong with it and we got what...
