I was in a hurry, looked outside on the menu and saw “Tikka chicken Masala - €13.50” so I went in and was seated. An American alone, I don’t speak French and can’t read French. He came over with the menu for me to look at, I said “I already know what I want, can I just get chicken tikka masala and a garlic naan? And just water to drink.” He said “with rice?” I replied “yeah, that’s fine.”
So it came, small portions but I’m American so I’m used to bigger portions. Everything was fine and then he gave me the bill and said “€22 euro” kinda awkwardly. This attached photo is the only bill he gave me and I couldn’t read it or figure it out, and I was in a hurry so I just paid it with my card and left real quickly, trying to figure out why naan would cost €8.50. Then it hit me, maybe they charge €1 or €2 for rice, and maybe they charge €3.50 for nan. But that’s maybe €18.50 or so… not €22… so, the only conclusion I can come up with is that he added a nice 20% tip in for himself. Gotta respect that hustle I guess, he caught me slipping, it’s just strange to me that he’d risk the reputation of the restaurant for an extra €4 or so in his pocket if that’s the case, again, I don’t speak or read French but all I ordered was chicken tikka masala with rice and garlic naan and the...
Read moreHighly recommend! We wanted something a little different as we made our way through Montmartre, and this place did not disappoint! The food was delicious, portion sizes were perfect, and the staff made several recommendations that were absolutely delicious! My husband loves to visit Indian restaurants around the world, and he loved this place. He likes his food spicy and was happy to report the spice level was perfect, and my medium spice was spot on as well. Our only regret is that we don’t have more time...
