Right, let's get a few things straight. This is an AMAZING HOTEL. There are a few people on here buying the cheapest smallest neatest little room and then complaining about it. Paris has small rooms. Period. If you pay for a slightly larger room here, not only is it bigger but they are all meticulously clean. This hotel is exceptionally well run with staff around always to help or look after you, and the place is pretty and unique. The spa is STUNNING, primarily because often you have it all to yourself. How many of us can claim we have that experience usually?! The breakfast is pretty good, sometimes they ran out of eggs and beans early on and as a typical English rose, I missed out but it was easily made up by gluten free bread selections (pre heated for us by staff), fresh fruit, pastries, incredibly good cheeses (well chosen guys!) and meats, yummy set yoghurts and local cakes / breads... Good coffee, nothing to complain about!! Audrey on reception was a joy to behold, always with her beautiful beaming smile and a happy 'bon soir!' before leaving in the evenings - she was a wonderful host here at the hotel. We got knocked on the door maybe 3 times sometimes each time for different cleanings! This hotel likes to keep things ship shape! We invested in the blue terrace room and it was awesome. It was spacious and roomy. Netflix set up on the huge TV. Massive super king size bed. Great sheets and pillows, we slept great here and cool air con was whisper quiet. Perfection! We loved the tiny cute terrace for private coffees and relaxing together. Some rooms downstairs on ground floor level share an outdoor terrace in a private courtyard surrounded by plants with your own little table and chairs allocated which is adorable. Those rooms vary in size so ask if you're unsure. 🙂🙏 I loved everything about this hotel. My holiday was easy and the metro le Gobelins no.7 was easy to get to everything from. G7 taxis worked well here as well, so register when you arrive in Paris! Otherwise Uber taxis works too in some places. Enjoy yourselves and splash out, this place was a dream come true for us! Thankyou so so much everyone at villa...
Read moreI'm giving this hotel a 1-star rating due to a significant security issue: they failed to provide me with a room key, and when I hesitated to go on with my stay, they offered me the master key, which opens all the rooms in the hotel.
To be fair, the room and interior of the hotel seemed quite nice. However, the key situation was a major red flag and made me question the trustworthiness of this establishment.
Here's what happened: Upon my arrival, I was informed that no room key was available at the time, meaning I wouldn't be given one. When I asked how I was supposed to access my room, I was told that a staff member from the reception would accompany me each time I needed to enter or exit, using the master key. Having stayed in over 100 hotels, I’ve never encountered anything like this. I asked if they could find a more convenient solution, but I was told the manager had already left and there were no other options.
As I was considering whether this was a deal-breaker, the receptionist offered me the hotel’s master key! I was shocked and immediately declined. The receptionist responded by saying, "But we trust you." (it was 10 minutes after they met me). I explained that it was inappropriate to trust any guest with a master key, and I felt uneasy knowing this was even an option. After discussing it with my family and thinking it over, I reluctantly decided to stay the night, given that it was late, my stay was prepaid, and I asked receptionist not to offer the master key to anyone else. I left at 7 am the next morning.
Throughout this interaction during the night, I was calm and polite, spending most of the time quietly thinking. However, when I left in the morning, that receptionist was rude and refused to speak or interact with me. This entire experience was bizarre and unprofessional. Although the hotel might have good amenities, they clearly have serious issues to address regarding how they handle...
Read moreI lived in Paris 40 years ago, but how it has changed! This was the worst city break we ever took.... it seems to be all about the money for the owners and/or managers/directors of so many of the Paris Hotels & Restaurants.
We only booked this hotel at some considerable extra cost to all 3 of us on this trip to enjoy the SPA FACILITIES..... unfortunately no one bothered to inform us on check-in that the sauna was broken down (it remained so for the entire 5 or 6 days we were there). The steam room was also either COLD WITH NO STEAM IN IT! or simply NOT HOT every time we went to the so called SPA.
The staff were lovely people, but there did not seem to be anyone there who took our polite complaints seriously or really cared and when I wrote "to the hotel manager or director/owner" they were too rude to reply and we only had our complaint eventually addressed by a receptionist, who (presumably on the managers instruction) informed us "We also would like to inform you that there no extra charge for the spa that’s why we cannot refund you [anything]". I wrote again (4 times in total), but no further reply, hence this one star review, it was a huge disappointment and we can not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you want a SPA hotel or a hotel with managment/owner who actually cares about their guests' enjoyment and comfort then I suggest you find...
