Let me try to be as thorough as I possibly can:
Staff - 5 stars, very friendly, accommodating, helpful
Rooms - really small. We didn't mind because we used the rooms only for sleeping and showering: left the hotel early, arrived late. The beds were comfortable, we slept well. Other guests say you can hear everything, a bit of an exaggeration: we didn't hear anything. Bathrooms in the rooms were so tiny but enough to get ourselves showered, etc.
Cleanliness - this i find a bit confusing because our room was cleaned daily, I could tell from the bed, someone came in and fixed our bed, changed our towels after we indicated. In our kids' room, the bed was never made but the towels were changed when indicated. Our kids didn't mind, I guess I don't too, I was just quite confused why this was the case
Location - 5-10 min walk from Metro Station Place d'Italie, 5 min walk from Les Gobelins. I love the location in that it wasn't central enough to be filled with tourist trap restaurants but also center enough that a Metro Station is 5 min away and with it you can find yourself anywhere else within 30 minutes. Lots of restaurants that feel more authentic in that Parisians actually eat there.
15 minutes walk to the Latin quarter, 25 minutes to the Pantheon, 35 minutes to the Seine.
Price - considering the location, the rate that I paid for was completely worth it (below 90€), the rooms were small but we didn't visit Paris to hang out in a hotel room.
Breakfast - mediocre. This is where I will have to deduct a star because while the price of 11€ adults, 5,50€ kids, so I would have paid 33€ for 2 adults and 2 kids, it just wasn't worth it. Ok, there was bacon (not crispy), eggs (not refilled right away), 3 kinds of cold cuts, a variety of bread (?), Pancakes and jams, there was juice from a pitcher/Karaffe, dunno if it's fresh, a coffee machine that dispensed shit coffee and by this I specifically mean cappuccino. NOT THEIR FAULT, ALL OF PARIS HAS MEDIOCRE CAPPUCCINO. I've had enough (in some restaurants you add 2€ to their french breakfast selection/menu to avail of a cappuccino) so I ordered espresso with a dash of milk, finally, something that resembles coffee. Now that I write this all down, I can see that for 11€ there is a decent selection but still, I don't recommend it. The breakfast room is small and windowless and the 33€ is half the price of breakfast somewhere else...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Hotel Kyriad Paris 13 and wanted to share my experience. I chose this hotel primarily because I have read that it is part of a brand owned by the large and reputable Jin Jiang International group. I expected a certain standard of accommodation from such a major hospitality organisation, but unfortunately my stay did not meet those expectations.
On a positive note, the hotel staff was friendly and professional, and daily housekeeping was provided, with our bed made and amenities replenished every day.
However, the major issues began with the room itself. We booked a standard room, but it was nothing like the pictures online. It was incredibly small, more like an attic, where there was barely enough space on either side of the bed for one person to stand.
The bed and mattress were in poor condition. One side of the mattress was significantly sunken, and we almost fell off the bed several times during the night.
The toilet was also extremely cramped, to the point where I couldn't fully stretch my arms up while inside. The walls were not soundproof at all; I could clearly hear conversations from the next room, even over the sound of the shower. Basic amenities like shampoo, body wash, toilet paper, towels, and a hair dryer were provided, and coffee, tea, and snacks were replenished daily. However, the kettle in our room was dirty and sandy inside.
The room was missing standard items like a vanity kit and shower cap. We requested room slippers, which most hotels provide for hygiene purposes, but we were told the hotel does not offer them to all guests.
While a TV was available, all channels were in French. As the hotel caters to many international guests, it would be beneficial to have English language channels available.
For the price paid and what was promised online, the value was not there. I would recommend that any tourist planning to stay for more than one or two days look for alternative, better...
Read moreJust returned from a week in Paris. Kyriad Hotel is near Place de Italie. Location is excellent, Metro station within a 5 minutes, bus stops even closer. |The hotel is small, very quiet at night. We had a room on the 5 th floor, with a small balcony. The room was small, but adequate by European standards. The mattresses were firm, but not painful. |Cleanliness was fine, ample towels supplied. There is a TINY elevator. Front desk people were helpful, spoke English. Other staff spoke only French. The website suggest the hotel can help with tours and airport transfers: not so. They will call you a cab. Period.|TWO NEGATIVES: | There is a bathtub, that is VERY difficult to climb into and out of. No shower curtain, there is a glass partition. There are NO GRAB BARS, and getting into and out of the tub/shower was difficult. |The hotel needs to think about adding grab bars. |The second NEGATIVE is the breakfast, which is included. The breakfast is adequate, and fits the current mold: cold cuts, baked goods, cereal, coffee, juice, yoghurt, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs and bacon. Every day. No change. After a week there, we'd have welcomed an Egg McMuffin! |There needs to be some variety, please. How about sausage with fried potatoes for a change? Plus, after sitting there in a warming pan for 2 hours, the scrambled eggs eventually get dry and lumpy. ||So, very good location, but issues that need to be addressed are shower safety, and more food variety in the ...
