Everything about my stay was awful: the first room I stayed in was very cramped and had no soap in the bathroom the bed had a significant dent and when I went to reception to ask for a different bed the following evening (I didn’t go in the morning since I had places to be and the employee was half asleep at the desk) the employee was very confrontational and told me that I should have said something in the morning and that changing beds would be difficult. I asked her if it was difficult, as in impossible, or as in she didn’t want to do it, and she told me to come back at 10pm to speak to the following employee. I asked why and she refused to answer. I kept asking her if she needed to come see the bed to understand what the problem was and she kept saying no, that it wouldn’t change anything. When I was eventually switched rooms, I was so frustrated with the horrible customer service that I cried. They did nothing to compensate and the second staff told me that I must’ve been awful to this girl because she’s normally not like that one night, the fire alarm went off for about an hour and we were made to stand outside in the rain. The power went out for over 2 hours and it was the first shift of the person working there is no full kitchen, and the little one they have is filled with flies and is very dirty the location is marketed as being in the Latin quarter, but this is a stretch, so it was not as central as advertised no privacy curtains on the beds and very squeaky beds that shifted with even the smallest movement the lock on the bathroom door was broken and despite asking staff to fix it, it was broken the entire week-long stay the internet was awful, rarely working unless you were on the main floor near the office saw clean and folded bedding left on the floor in the hallways by staff as they were doing...
Read moreDecent place if you just want to sleep, but if you're looking for the hostel experience I'd look elsewhere.
The good: Rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are very modern. As just a place to sleep, 3 stars (minus 2 for the beds) Each bed has multiple USB charge ports and a traditional plug and light above the bed.
The bad: I got there at 6am and was told check in was noon. I wandered the city until then and when I got back I was told check in was 4pm, so I had to wait even longer before getting my room The soda machine took my 2 euro and didn't dispense my drink, the receptionist could care less and didn't have a way to refund me. Nor did they ever put a note on I the machine as I suggested. The beds squeak and sway so badly that if the person above or below you moves, it will wake even a moderately deep sleeper. There isn't a decent lounge or area to hang out in, just a cafeteria with table seating so if you need to hang out, it's uncomfortable and boring. There are board games to play but you have to rent them There isn't a refrigerator nor area to cook or store your own food Breakfast was just ok, it wasn't very impressive. The coffee was the worst I had in France and the croissant was the only saving grace but still the worst I've had here (see photo) There is no covered patio nor a decent area to sit outside other than a very small 4 person table through an almost inaccessible door. They have locked storage for your backpack or suitcase, but when anyone needs to get in their bag, they are given the key and can go in the closed room alone. Who knows if they go through your things while alone in there? I didn't see a camera in the...
Read moreIn my search for accommodation in Paris, I came across this beautiful cozy small hostel in one of the best neighnborhoods in town. In my opinion, it's all you need, especially when traveling alone. ||||-The Latin Quartier is a GORGEOUS negihborhood. It is well-connected, just a few meters away from subway stations, the streets are clean and full of trees and flowers, there're plenty of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, and cinemas all around. You always feel safe around the area. And it's a 15/20 mins walking distance from Saint Germaine, so, for me it was AMAZING.||||I stayed in a room for 2, which was really comfortable and with a beautiful view to the avenue. It wasn't noisy at all though. In fact it is definitely not a party hostel, so it's just fantastic if what you're looking for is a quite, clean, calm place to go back to at night and wake up at.||||The bathroom of the room I stayed at was clean and modern with an AMAZINGLY good shower, which is great when you come back after walking the whole day. The builidng's got an elevator, which is great when you're traveling with heavy luggage. There are lockers outside the rooms, and your stay includes breakfast, which might not be the most abundant, but it certainly does the trick, and it's part of the fee you pay, so it's great! They offer coffee, tea and croissants as a complimentary "tea service" during the afternoon. There're microwaves and electric oven to heat up your food, which you can keep in a fridge in the kitchen next door. ||||I'll definitly go back and I do recommend it 100% ||||=D||Thanks for everything, Oops...
