Fantastic! Truly an iconic way to spend our last night in Paris. Café culture in its prime, with fantastic and friendly service, and despite the bustling location, still feels tranquil. Pictured: Drinks: Le Primeur, Capi Ginger; both had fresh puree and were marvelous. Food to share: Avocado toast with an egg, mixed seeds, just the right amount of pulled chicken, and mixed greens with vinaigrette; very good, but eat it while it's fresh! And for anyone who is sensitive to it, do note that the egg is very lightly cooked, including the whites. However, all fresh ingredients are gathered daily. Chêvre, honey, mint egg rolls with Tsatsiki; these were DIVINE. Perfectly flaky on the outside with such a creamy perfect center. The mint added an incredible balance to the flavor, as well. Don't miss out on these! Escargots with garlic parsley butter; very, VERY good. Among the best escargot I've had. The texture specifically was amazing, almost like mochi. Not a hint of grainyness, just the right amount of tender chewyness. Mixed planche; I'm not positive on the types included, but it was one harder cheese, and two soft rind cheeses--one stronger than the other. All three were great! You can't get cheese like this in the US. The meats were all delightfully flavorful as well. 2 hard sausages, one a bit dryer and the other a bit smokey-er, pâté which was very flavorful, and what I assume was fresh sliced ham.

Do not skip out on this place! You won't be disappointed, and there's something for everyone...

We went to this restaurant tonight for dinner. We asked our waitress for the sweetest wine on the menu. When it arrived it was dry, not sweet. I overheard the table beside us complaining about their wine being too sweet. I told them I thought the waitress mixed up our wines and they offered to let us try theirs. It was very sweet and exactly what we wanted. We gave them ours to try and they agreed we had what they wanted. When the waitress returned we explained her mistake. She huffed off and returned with our replacement carafe only for us to discover once again she brought the same dry wine. A gentleman then returned a third time with the correct wine. We had the fish and chips and Cobb salad that were both excellent, but when we got our bill, our waitress had included the 2 incorrect (identical) carafes of wine. We approached the man who brought the correct wine and said we were not paying for wine we did not order and did not drink. He said something to the waitress and took my payment for the food and single carafe. There was no apology for their mistake and we left feeling like they were mad at us even though we tried to be very patient. I would have loved to return for another meal due to the great food but because of the horrendous service we will...

Update 2024-1 We’ve tried because you have to give a second chance; It was great again. Quick and excellent service! The food was good and the price OK! Update 2019-4-2019 I’m sorry to say that the service went down even more. We planned a breakfast and dinner later on our stay here. The night before we ordered a bottle of sparkling water for no small amount of € 6,90 for 75 cl. (which was on the drinking menu) that they refused to serve, unless we ordered some food as well... After 30 years of coming to this place, it will be our last time😢 2017 Some waiters are professional others are not... It can take a while (you might say long, sometimes they take forever...) before they take your order. It use to be great a place but the service went down while the prices went up. 😕

We visited Café Du Marché on a friend’s recommendation, as it’s one of her favorite places to eat in Paris—and now we completely understand why! Every single one of us loved our meals. I had the French onion soup and duck with a small salad, and everything was absolutely delicious. I have a gluten allergy and informed our waiter, who was very accommodating and made sure my meal was safe for me. The atmosphere is incredibly charming, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal after sightseeing. We chose to dine inside, but they also have outdoor seating for those who prefer to enjoy the fresh air and people-watching. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and a cozy Parisian dining experience!
