Just got back from a lovely stay at the Rayz Eiffel. Perfect for us for a few nights with the kids. Clean and the beds made daily. The reception staff are very helpful and even ordered us a taxi the day we checked out. As check out wasn’t until 12pm it means we could enjoy even more of the area before we left.
The roof terrace was beautiful and a great place to see the Eiffel tower light show. The stairs going up to the roof are a very narrow so do take care as when it’s wet on the roof they can become slippery.
The room was a little hot and stuffy at times but the window could open for some fresh air. We were on the ground floor so no view for us but it didn’t matter as we used the hotel mainly as a base and the roof terrace is good for that. It can be noisy as close to reception but the area is surprisingly quiet given how close it is to lots of places. The decor may not be to everyone’s tastes but I like it very chic and although some spots need a bit of a repaint it looks like a top end hotel for a great price. Clean linen and towels plus soaps and shampoos in our apartment were a nice touch. The sofa bed wasn’t the most comfortable but after a full day out in Paris I don’t think my body cared too much but maybe if it was longer than a few nights that might get difficult to sleep in.
Location is ace as the Eiffel Tower is around a 10 min walk and the nearest metro on line 8 is 5 mins away. A supermarket and pharmacy 100m from the hotel and this means it’s very convenient. If you keep going down the Rue at Dominique you can turn onto the champ due Mars park. (Don’t venture too close at night to the Eiffel Tower as it’s all closed off now and has a wall around it. The benches in the lower park are full of people trying to sell trinkets and we even saw a few audacious rats about so best stick to the upper park if it’s after sunset). Other than it’s great location if you want to start queuing for the tower early as you can come out just by the south entrance.
I’d say this place was great little gem for families as it’s close to shops, restaurants and the rue St Dominique is a short stroll with the best patisserie in Paris. We would certainly stay again as it...
Read moreThe Rayz Eiffel Hotel was a perfect place to stay in Paris. The room had a view of the Eiffel Tower being displayed in all its beauty, lighted and sparkling in the evening sky, viewable while lying in bed. The room was very pleasant and well maintained. The hotel is one block away from Rue Clair, a charming market street in Paris and the Metro which gives you easy access to all of Paris. The Eiffel Tower, Rodin Museum and Napoleon’s Tomb are all within a 15-minute walk. There was a significant negative, however. The only elevator in the hotel failed on a Friday afternoon and although a repair was attempted Saturday, the repair could not be completed until some time Monday, 48+ hours later. Access to our room on the 5th floor required ascending and descending 100 steps on a very narrow spiral stairs. This was a challenge for aged 80+ individuals with leg/knee problems especially after walking miles to get to museums and through the museums. The narrow stairs would only permit a single file either up or down the spiral steps. Repair of the elevator was scheduled for Monday, the day we departed (0700) in the morning. We were offered a room on the lower floors, but we declined because we came for the view offered by our upper floor room. The staff was courteous in making the offer and suggesting they could handle our luggage on Monday morning. There is no excuse for the owner/manager of the hotel not to have in place a maintenance contract to repair a failed elevator (their only elevator) within eight hours.
I gave it 4-stars because of elevator...
Read moreOur stay at the Rayz Eiffel was nothing short of spectacular. We had made a booking error (our fault - long ago), that would have required a room switch part way through our visit (again - 100% our fault) and instead of making us move, they found a solution that allowed us to stay in our Eiffel Tower view room during our entire visit, We didn’t even have to ask for support, they took care of it before we arrived and simply made the stress of that situation disappear! Top notch customer service!
Aside from the reservation support, our room had the most picturesque and gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower- we enjoyed seeing it each morning and as it sparkled each evening, The room was comfortable, incredibly clean, well appointed with a hair dryer, nespresso machine, water and the kitchenette had some dishes for use. They even welcomed us with a bottle of wine!
The location is perfect, steps away from the charm of the Rue Cler, near the Eiffel Tower and honestly - we walked almost everywhere! On the few occasions we used a car service, pick up was simple and easy!
The reception team were so friendly and helpful, we truly enjoyed any interaction with them.
We had an amazing time and our stay at this beautiful hotel helped make our 28th Wedding Anniversary trip one of the best travel experiences...
