Un art de vivre à la française
2020 , has been a challenging year to say the least . As I have my pied à terre in Paris , during normality times , I often dine at restaurants at Palace hotels and rarely have the occasion to stay. I decided to spend New Year’s Eve with my dearest friend’s and stay at our ultimate Favorite Palace , La Réserve , less ostentatious than Paris’s officially designated palace hotels, it’s every aspect their equal, if not their superior — at the very least it’s gone straight into the top tier of Parisian luxury hotels. Suites outnumber rooms, as is only fitting for a small Palace , more like a private residences than hotel rooms, a true residential atmosphere , subdued 19th-century mansion .
I coordinated my stay with the Hotel Manager , Mr Julien Gardin and visited several suites and along with his expertise and his team created memorable stay . I conversed several times to further refine all the necessary details. I was extremely impressed with Raphaël, duty manager, he was excellent , proactive and assisted immensely, most spontaneous.
Mélody , Chef de Brigade, was simply outstanding, delightful and most gracious, assisted in coordinating with pre-registration ,personalized to every detail, with an extensive list , to anticipate with preferences,to ensure to a ultimate stay for their guests . I have stayed at many luxury properties around the globe and reiterate how impressive the experience remains .
We arrived with the hotel’s pre arranged chauffeur, we were greeted by the entire team awaiting outside of the Mansion , I was overwhelmed . I have never experienced such a Royal Welcome , true Red Carpet .
Upon arrival , Melody graciously escorted us to our suite , 507 and gave us an overview of all the comforts and amenities. We felt immediately at home . Its interiors exquisitely designed by Jacques Garcia, whose typically romantic style is at its most refined here. Décor is plush and luxurious without being flashy, featuring Bordeaux and Merlot themes with velvet bed runners, bed heads and silk wallpaper — plus more contemporary elements in the artworks and soft furnishings. There is attention to detail in every aspect , with options to control temperature, light and television either the traditional way or with modern technology from Apple, iPads. Minibars feature Nespresso machines, kettles and complimentary soft drinks. All rooms contain some sports equipment for those who don’t want to use 24-hour gym. Bathrooms are simply exquisite Spa like feel , in Carrara marble, with featuring sinks carved from single blocks and free-standing metal tubs with remote-controlled television, Toto washlets .
The spa, specializing in Nescens-Swiss anti-aging treatments, also contains a 50-foot indoor pool, which was privatized for us during our one hour sessions , truly blissful.
We were hosted in a separate suite with the view of the Eiffel Tower . Restaurant Manager , Kevin Bourgogne and his team orchestrated every aspect of our dining experience, from tableware exquisitely selected and overall ambiance , understated and refined.
Our exquisite menu was created for our New Year’s celebration by the expertise of the talented Chef Jérome Banctel , culinary delights were most carefully prepared , with the finest , freshest of ingredients and executed to perfection.
The service was butler style, personalized , discreet yet unobtrusive and added to the overall Excellence in service , they ensured and anticipated all our needs throughout the evening. Our dining was a true visual elegance throughout, paired with perfect Champagne from the proprietors vineyards , Michel Reybier .
We had the great privilege of having the talented singer ,Sophie de Quay and Simon , multi-instrumentalist, performing for us as we were dining , her powerful and intense voice ... truly mesmerizing, both are a true gift to the universe.
Meanwhile , We continue to reminisce on our magical soiree that you and your team created for us , truly most memorable stay and without any doubt The...
Read moreMy husband and I had the distinct pleasure of staying at La Reserve for three nights in a Prestige Junior Suite. We were welcomed by a charming team who ushered us into this sumptuous refuge after being collected by their driver at CDG. We felt like we had entered another world that exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was very large and a bottle of champagne and clever sweet bites include a chocolate rhinoceros, truffles, macaron and a chocolate miniature of their signature front door greeted us. The decor is maximalism at its best and the tech touches make staying there a dream. We did not want to leave our room! They offer a butler to unpack you - a lovely gesture. We enjoyed most breakfasts in our room at a large table. The cuisine was excellent and the croissants are not to be missed! My husband enjoyed a 90 minute massage that he declared was among his favorites. We were given rides several times by the house car whose drivers were always incredibly polite, gracious, and charming. We came back to the room after our first evening out to our enormous bathtub filled with flowers and a hand-written note encouraging us to relax. Another day a lovely candle with their signature scent was left by our bedside with a similar note to enjoy. The concierge team were just knowledgeable and kind, securing us reservations and offering their expert advice. They were always available too which is rare these days. This hotel is very, very special. I encourage you to make it your home in Paris. Merci beaucoup to all who made it such a wonderful...
Read moreBefore I arrived I stayed at a Disney hotel as I had taken my child there for a few days. |I was so relieved to get to la reserve and know right away I was in a proper hotel with top class service and amenities. ||From the moment we arrived we were greeted with professionalism and politeness. The staff could not do enough to ensure my family were taken care of. ||After being taken to our room we were greeted by our butler and given some lovely arrival gifts like chocolate and champagne. This was a lovely touch. ||A huge bathroom with a separate room for toilet. I loved the Japanese toilet and tv in the bath. ||For the turn down service the staff would set you up for the night adding so many small touches like mats beside the bed and tea on your cabinet. The staff overheard me say we need to get nappies and they went to get them for us. These are the fine differences which set these small handful of luxury hotels apart. Only once have I ever had detail like this and it was in the Middle East. I doubt anyone else offers the same standard of service in Paris. ||The room offered a small balcony which overlooked the street and grand palace. |It was a nice location away from the crowds. |They also do a house car service which is nice when available. ||Breakfast was nice as was room service. ||One of the biggest selling points here is a 24 hour spa in central Paris. This is news to me and I have worked in luxury travel for some time. The fact I could take my child swimming at 10pm to tire him out for bed was really great. ||I hope to...
