The Avenue des Champs-Elysées is “the most beautiful avenue in the world”, represents the prestige, luxury, and elegance of Paris thanks to its history and numerous luxury boutiques. Today, the Champs-Elysées welcomes close to 100 million tourists every year. Although the Champs-Elysées has been a place particularly frequented by high society, the fact remains that it was just a walking space. They would have to wait until the 1920’s to see the avenue turn into a street with luxury stores, hotels, cafés, and restaurants. Stretches from Concorde to Arc de Triomphe, you should attempt to walk all the way from Concorde station all the way up to Arc de Triomphe. Its about a 2 km walk and you will pass by the park/garden before reaching the shopping area filled with shops and restaurants. Its a breezy walk with wide pedestrian walkway lined with trees. If you dont feel like walking, there’s 3 metro stops along the way, Clemenceau, Franklin de Roosevelt and George V. There’s lots of shopping to do from high end to mid-price.
