The Avenue des Champs-Elysées is “the most beautiful avenue in the world”, represents the prestige, luxury, and elegance of Paris thanks to its history and numerous luxury boutiques.  Today, the Champs-Elysées welcomes close to 100 million tourists every year. Although the Champs-Elysées has been a place particularly frequented by high society, the fact remains that it was just a walking space.  They would have to wait until the 1920’s to see the avenue turn into a street with luxury stores, hotels, cafés, and restaurants.  The idea came from a natural pearl merchant dressed up like a developer, Léonard Rosenthal, who decided to create the Arcades du Lido.  Located from 76 to 78 on the Champs-Elysées, the covered passage built by the architect, Grossard, was listed as a historical monument in 1991 and is home to luxury boutiques, and from 1929, the prestigious Parisian...

Champs-Elysees, heart of Paris. Beautiful, gorgeous and vibrant, a must stop for anyone. Stretches from Concorde to Arc de Triomphe, you should attempt to walk all the way from Concorde station all the way up to Arc de Triomphe. Its about a 2 km walk and you will pass by the park/garden before reaching the shopping area filled with shops and restaurants. Its a breezy walk with wide pedestrian walkway lined with trees. If you dont feel like walking, there’s 3 metro stops along the way, Clemenceau, Franklin de Roosevelt and George V. There’s lots of shopping to do from high end to mid-price. Restaurants aplenty and so are fast food joints. You will also spot a number of sport cars like lambo and ferrari too. A great place to stop and chill and people...

Champs - Élysées is the Main Street in Paris for tourists. So , you will find everything which may interest a tourist. You have road full of Eateries, Cafes, shops, luxury brands , burlesque dance center like Lido and what not. Infact , this is such a tourist intensive area that it is difficult to walk. Yet , it’s a must visit. Anyway , this post is about Arc de Triomphe , as I wanted to add my pics and google wouldn’t allow me to do the same with AdT.

This is a victory arch and used to be one of the tallest such arch. Now , this also houses the remains of unknown soldiers for WW I and II. This is near to swine river and part of the “tourist...
