Location is 5 stars- this is the best part about the apartment. Excellent location and proximity to metro. Steps away from La Halle Shopping
Noise level: 2 stars- the hotel is very noisy. Do not stay in room 11. It is right next to the Elevator, luggage storage, and right over the front entry door. It also has a window that looks out right to the street where the restaurants are open late. From the street you can see very clearly into the room when the curtains are open. Also, the room being right next to the two restaurants you can smell the oil and cigarette smoke even with the window closed.
The elevator was broken when we arrived. It wasn't a big issue for access to our room as we could take the stairs just one floor up. However, it was a huge issue on noise. For 2 nights the door banged at all hours and it kept slamming and opening because the only way to access the elevator was right outside our front door. We addressed this issue with the management and they put a door stop to try to help with the door slamming but people kept moving the stop or they would kick it and it would end up slamming over and over again. The management also gave us champagne, which was a nice gesture, however, I do not drink. I would of preferred just a bit of credit for the 2 nights of sleeplessness as I asked.
Service: The staff was mildly helpful but for the most part the service was very "french" and very generic.
Amenities: 4 stars. they managed to fit a lot very efficiently into a small space. It's everything you could possibly need in a small space. However, not all the items are very efficient. The washer dryer is a combo unit. So, you need to know it takes a very long time to dry anything. So, if you need your laundry you should plan ahead. When we were there it was raining and cold so we didn’t use the A/C however, as other reviews had mentioned it a shared unit for the whole building so the thermostat is really for show. We tried using the thermostat by following the directions in the booklet and it did not work at all. Some days it was really warm and some days really cold.
Pre check in: BE AWARE if you book on Agoda they try to send you the check in link that needs to be filled out prior to check in on the Agoda Chat. It will not show you the link. I had to email the customer service multiplet times and I even told them over the Agoda chat to please email it to me instead of sending it over and over again through chat. However, in the end to get it resolved I had to make a international call to the customer service line to get this resolved in time because they just kept reply to the Agoda chat instead of sending me an email as I requested.
The apartment decor and amenities is very chic, modern, and very well done. It truly had everything you could need in a compact but spacious area. Maybe if I was in a different room without all the door slamming and restaurant noise and smell my experience would have been...
Read moreMy family traveled to Paris on June 1st this year. My wife booked this hotel from June 1st to 5th. We arrived at the hotel at noon that day, an old lady opened the door for us to enter. Then she told us that the elevator could not go up to the 3rd floor, and that the luggage had to be placed on the 1st floor (equivalent to the second floor in the United States). The elevator was small and narrow, and could only accommodate one adult and a suitcase. My wife held my little daughter and took the small elevator with my older daughter, while I waited for the next elevator. Soon my little daughter burst into tears, and my wife asked why the elevator stopped and could not open the door? Then I hurriedly took the stairs to see what was going on. When I walked to the 1st floor (the second floor in the United States), I tripped over a dangerous gap between two connected carpets (see from the picture), which caused me to fall and injure my knee. The hotel failed to properly secure the flooring. I was very dissatisfied with the safety hazards of this hotel, so I called to cancel our reservation. At that time, our scheduled check-in time was 3 pm. I called to cancel at about 1 pm. But the operator who answered the phone refused to let us check out, saying that she had asked the waitress and the elevator was in good condition. I sent another email to explain the situation and asked to check out, but they just replied pretending to care about my knee injury, and then said that there was no problem with their elevator and carpet, and they did not agree to cancel my reservation for this hotel. In the end, I had to take a taxi to find another hotel. My knee hurt even more that night. The next day I asked a French doctor to prescribe medicine for me. I dragged my injured leg around to find a pharmacy to get the medicine (prescription picture), and then I had to take painkillers and drag my family to continue traveling with my injury. I don't know why such a bad hotel has such a high rating, and Chat GPT also recommends this hotel so much. If the rating has negative points, I would give this hotel -5 points for service...
