$600+ per night and now my girlfriend and I are hungry in my room ordering Uber Eats two nights in a row;
The first night we called the room service trying to order the "late night menu" advertised on the hotel's TV around 10:10pm; 20 minutes later, we were notified that the food we ordered was out of stock and only two “tabbouleh?” were left for orders. We gave up and ordered Uber Eats at 10:40pm.
The second day; we ordered in-room dining around 3-4pm. NOTE that at this time, the regular room service already happened. Our room had been cleaned. The food arrived and was delicious. However, we needed to head out to our Eiffel Tower Appointment so we left the unfinished food covered with a lid (a whole plate of salad, and another plate with around 10-15 chicken wings) in our room, hoping to finish later after we come back from the visit. We didn't push the cart outside the room. However, when we were back, the food and the cart were taken away. How weird is it for the hotel to do room services twice a day when unasked for? And why not leave our unfinished food in the room and only clean up the finished ones?
If the above was still minimally acceptable...the worst thing then happened. For the second time, we called around 9:30 pm to order the "late night menu" advertised on the hotel TV. We were then told over the phone that because the late night menu was only for 10pm-7am, we could only call after 10pm to order. Okay, we waited another 20 minutes, and called again. This time, we were asked to wait one more minute to call again. We waited 5 minutes and we had to call 5 - 6 times until the phone was eventually picked up. Like yesterday, we were then told that the hotel kitchen’s fridge was "empty" and there was no food to order.
And now again, at 10:40pm, we are ordering uber eats and preparing to leave the hotel tmr around 7-8am to catch our flight.
This is a 5-star hotel that went out of their way to have a staff member lead us to our room and personally advertise all their amazing food options to us on the day we checked in. We have American Express membership, and thus we were told that we have 130 Euros in credit for us to order food in the hotel. We deliberately planned our meals to be room services to fully utilize the 130 Euro credit. And for the only two days we stayed in this hotel, we were told that this is a hotel that had NOTHING in their fridge past 10 pm all the while they advertise completely contradictory information.
Complaints are done. Here is the list of things I think the hotel needs to improve.
The hotel has BAD communications between different departments. The hotel needs to fix this.
From my experience above, you can see how chaotic the communication is between the reception, room service, and kitchen that prepares the food.
Don't tell the guest to wait till 10pm to order if the PREVIOUS DAY there was no food either? Tell them to order before 10PM. An announcement pop-up on the TV BEFORE 10pm to inform the hotel guests shouldn't be too hard to do? Overall the hotel should increase communications among the different departments. One example is to let the reception desk have access to the food menu: when we were ordering the food during the day, we were at the hotel's reception desk because we were heading out. We were told that the reception desk doesn't have the in-room dining menu so they cannot order for us and we had to go back to the room to see the menu on the TV (luckily we saved that on our phone). After we told the reception desk what we wanted, the receptionist made multiple phone calls and finally was able to help us order food without requiring us to go back to our room. I didn't think this was anything weird at the time, but now, I felt the hotel needs to improve on how each department communicates for sure. Improve room services - please don't ASSUME that the guests want them to be cleaned or taken away - if anything, you can clean the finished dish and leave the unfinished dish in the room covered with new lids. Maybe one room service per day to...
Read moreThis hotel was one of the worst five-star hotel we have ever stayed in our life (rediculously 4 nights). There were plus and minus. I will explain it starting from the positive experience.
The house is super new. Room is not big regarding its 500 Euro per night price: but it is Paris. The owner really invested millions to preserve the original used-to-be la samaritaine department store. Room amenities are made by high quality materials. The swimming pool was a pure highlight in city centre and rarely visited by hotel guests.
Let us start now with the worst experience. Breakfast: the worst of worst worldwide. First of all on no single day we left the breakfast hall with full stomach (they might be health concious?). Not only fruits placing in the buffet display tray were unfresh (infact stawberries were grey and molded on two consecutive days; no single piece of banana was undamaged) but also were the croissants and pain au chocolat totally stale. Americano was prebrewed hours ago and lukewarm. We were told to be allowed to choose only one main from the menu.
Eggs benedict: bacon was fried hours ago if not from the day before therefore cold, hard and not possible to chew. Toast was dry, equally hard to bite and hollandaise lack of taste.
Guacamole on bread: bread cold and stale, guacamole was not fresh at all: you can taste even the aging flavour (maybe the kitchen considers it as distinguished?)
Buffet was the smallest ever seen: no fresh salad, no vegis, nowhere to (re)heat your bread (bread was precut into pieces before serving the the guests). Only on the last day one staff told us by asking why the bread was provided cold, he answered with regret that they would love to reheat their lovely cold bread in the kitchen if requested.
What really upset us was the service team: on two mornings there were not many guests coming down for breakfast. We saw two staff playing with their smartphone and chitchat to each other which really did not fit a five-star standard. Attention was also a main problem: no one seemed to care about cleaning up used plates.
Now we come to other service issues. No staff in the lobby seems to be interested in greeting guests (us). Oh sorry(!) that we were not dressed like visiting opera garnier in the neighbourhood since we were just museum lovers. We did saw poncy fellow guests being served frenchly.
Gym was small and located in the basement. Although being open 24 hours it was not possible to access it through the lift directly. Equipment was quite updated but left uncleaned/untidied. No cleaning towel or extra towel or alcohol-based cleanser provided which was absolutely not up to normal hygiene standard.
In the Pool area no shampoo or shower gel was provided. Shower head difficult to use without instruction.
Facit: as it is still a new hotel there are immense potentials where they can improve. We feel quite ashamed for those staff who did not treat their own job seriously as their respect to their guests is equivalent to themselves. It is a hotel which has horrible breakfast experience and this achilles' heel let down everyone including its IHG brand.
(sincerely, IHG...

From location to design to dining, this hotel gets so much right.||Excellent Location:The hotel enjoys a fantastic location near the Opéra Garnier and Galeries Lafayette - you're in the heart of Paris with world-class shopping, dining, and culture right on your doorstep. It's the perfect base for exploring the city, whether you're there for shopping, sightseeing, or simply soaking up the Parisian atmosphere.||Small But Perfectly Formed Rooms: The room was admittedly small, but it was absolutely perfectly formed. Every inch of space is cleverly utilized, and the beautiful decoration creates an elegant, comfortable sanctuary. It proves that size isn't everything when design is done this well - the room felt cozy and chic rather than cramped. The attention to detail in the décor is evident throughout.||Outstanding In-Room Coffee Station:The coffee station in the room was great, but the real star was the hot chocolate - absolutely fantastic! Having quality beverages available in your room is such a treat, especially on a cold Parisian morning. It's these thoughtful touches that elevate the experience.||Fabulous Restaurant - Best Guacamole in Paris:The hotel restaurant is truly fab. The food is excellent across the board, but their guacamole deserves special mention - it's genuinely the best in town! Fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant alone is worth visiting, even if you're not staying at the hotel. The atmosphere is relaxed yet sophisticated, and the service matches the quality of the food.||Rooftop Terrace (Weather Permitting):The rooftop terrace is apparently fantastic, though unfortunately the January weather wasn't suitable for me to enjoy it during my stay. I can only imagine how wonderful it must be in warmer months - it's definitely a reason to return in spring or summer!||Overall: Kimpton St Honoré Paris delivers a quintessentially Parisian experience with all the warmth and thoughtful service that Kimpton is known for. The combination of prime location, beautiful design, excellent dining, and attention to detail makes this a standout choice in Paris.||Yes, the rooms are small, but in Paris that's to be expected, and the hotel makes the most of every square foot. Everything else - the location, the restaurant, the in-room amenities, and the overall atmosphere - more than compensates.||Bottom Line:A beautifully designed boutique hotel in a prime location with fantastic dining.
