Le Samoyede is a traditional and expensive hotel, with a very good location (being this the only one that fits in the category 4 stars, although it is far from justifying its price) and very good food at night. However, the breakfast is almost basic, it does not respond to the category that supposes to have, nor to its price. The rooms have an old decoration, since the reform has only reached the outer door of them. The day I arrived the bathtub and its shower did not work (which I find unacceptable when you pay almost 300 euros a night), so I had to take my bath in the basement where the sauna was, with the consequent transfer. After that , I was expecting that the hotel had an attention for me because of this mishap , however not only they did not offer me any compensation (as it would any establishment of this category ), but the owner refused to give me a discount when I requested it, while I was fully entitled to do so, since they did not provide me the services I paid for. The TV in the room was a simple 22 " computer screen, unusual in a 4-star hotel !! Obviously it was impossible to watch television from the bed with such a minimal screen, so I requested that they change it, and replaced it with a 24 "screen, in which It could not be seen either. The staff was friendly, but that did not cover the faults and shortcomings in the background. The hotel is completely overvalued for its price, I perceived pettiness in services and facilities, its category is 3 stars and not 4 as they charge. The quality / price ratio is very disappointing
Read moreMy husband and I spent our honeymoon at the hotel Samoyede and we had a perfect and wonderful stay. The hotel itself is charming and perfectly clean. The decor is beautiful and thoughtful down to the last detail. Our room was well appointed, comfortable, and clean. The housekeeping staff came daily while we were at breakfast so we came home to a made up room before going skiing. The breakfast was PERFECT!!! So delicious with the selection of the day, a made to order omelet, and the full buffet of options like eggs, cheese, fruits, meats, breads, cereals, and the best yogurt I’ve ever had in my life. The ski room was easy to access and secure and also quite lovely. After a long day on the slopes (gondolas only about a 2-3 min walk to get to either Morzine or Avoriaz) the spa was lovely before dinner (although I wish the hot tub was a bit hotter). Then dinner, oh my god, the food was so outstanding. Perfect portions, thoughtfully prepared and perfectly executed French delicacies. WOW!!!! And the dinner wait staff were so lovely always with great wine recommendations and smiles. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was the best hotel experience I have had in my...
Read moreIt's not often you stay somewhere which is better than the pictures. Firstly the staff are amazing, they couldn't do enough for us. The evening meal is simply delicious and the waiting staff such lovely friendly people while also being very professional. The wine list in the restaurant is extensive with price options to suit all and expert guidance from the waiting staff. The rooms are very comfortable, I had a single room which was cozy but laid out in a very practical way to make the most of the space. My friends had a double room which was a good size and also very comfortable, all the rooms seemed recently decorated / well maintained. The hotel is located about halfway between the two Gondolas that take you up to Morzine/Les Gets and Avoriaz, each only a short walk (~5 mins). It's in a really nice location in the middle of the town, right next to the town square which is surrounded by pleasant bars and restaurants. The hotel bar is also very nice where you can sit outside and watch the world go by. We had such an amazing stay with some great skiing too, I would highly recommend a visit to Morzine and to Hotel Le Samoyede. Thank you for making our...
