We chose to stay here because it was the most budget friendly out of the hotels, and you still get the early entry benefits of staying on property. For this hotel, come with the proper expectations and you won’t be disappointed. Let’s set up your expectations, this is a 2 star hotel, summer camp/YMCA camp/dorm room style hotel room. It is VERY basic and small. There is no mini fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker, no AC, limited outlets, no ice bucket, no elevator (in our building), small travel size shampoo and conditioner in the shower, the shower is the size and water pressure of a cruise ship shower, and it is about a 20 minute walk to the parks. It is also a very large hotel with many different buildings, so it can take some time to walk to your building depending on if you are coming from the bus stops or from the walking path. The room had a closet area (open with no door or curtain) and the hangers are pre-attached. There is a shelf at the bottom of this closet and the top of the closet, where the safe is (could not get my safe to work). The bathroom came with a box of tissues and a bar soap, and some disposable cups, as well as shower gel attached to the wall. Most rooms come with two double beds. The pillows are basically non existent. Since we only had 2 people in the room we used the pillows from the other bed since they are the flattest and most uncomfortable pillows. The beds are also well used and hard and uncomfortable. There is a ceiling fan which we kept running to keep the air flowing since there is no AC. You can also open the window but it only cracks open and there is no screen so the bugs come in. So we just left the fan running. There are 3 large drawers under the TV, which has limited offerings on it. There is a small ledge to place things on next to the closet, and a small nightstand with a small drawer in between the beds. If you are from a country that is not in the EU, bring a power converter, because it is only the EU plugs in the room. There were no washcloths in the room, only large shower towels and two hand towels, so that was interesting. We did get housekeeping every day. We were given a room on the 2nd floor (3rd floor if you are from the US), and there is no elevator in our building so we had to carry our suitcases up and down the stairs upon checking in and out, and go up 3 flights of stairs everytime coming to and from the room from the parks, etc. There is one building in each block of buildings (so 4 total) that have the elevators. These are also the buildings with the coffee vending machines, and the regular vending machines. There is also an ice machine that puts out huge cubes that don’t really fit into water bottles. The coffee vending machines are complimentary with your room key. You get 4 per day, but they are very mini sized (think sample/hospital size). They have a variety of coffee and hot drinks such as cappuccino’s, latte’s, and hot chocolate. Some even have some flavors and you can control how much sugar to add as well. It is pretty quick, just pretty small and I assume that is why they load 4 per day onto your card. They do not tell you about this at check in, it is just something that you have to know, but the buildings are labeled on the map and are the buildings in each block closest to the walking path in the back (14, 33, 46, 54). The busses run every 15 minutes on the 15, but I noticed in the morning and the evening they run more often during those peak times. The bus ride itself is quite short, about 6 or so minutes and drops off at the farthest bus stop at the bus station by the train station and Disney village. You will go through security there. Your other option is to walk along the river and then through Disney village to get to the parks. It is a nice walk, but a decently long one. You go through the security at the entrance to Disney village. In the lobby of the hotel there is the check in desk, the concierge desk, and a character meet and greet area. Upon walking further down the hallway, there is the trading post gift shop, restrooms with a water bottle fill station, and the cantina buffet (open for breakfast and dinner), and the rio grande bar. On the other side of the dropoff from the lobby is the luggage services if you needed them stored. You can arrive to the hotel by car, by train and walk from the train station, by the magical express bus, or by private transfer. We took an Uber from the airport and it was simple. Upon approaching the gate for the hotel we just had to show our reservation on our phone to the gate guard to be let in. Upon going back to the airport we scheduled our Uber through the app and the driver was there at the lobby area early. The early entry feature to the parks is one hour early. But there are usually only 3-4 rides open, so you have to check the app upon entering. And because everyone from the hotels can only go to these 4 rides, they do form a decent line, somewhat defeating the purpose of early entry, so your mileage may vary based on park, day, and ride. Overall if you are not spending that much time in the room anyway, and don’t care about hotel amenities and want to save some money, then this hotel will do the trick. It is somewhere to store your stuff and lay your head. But if you want to have food and drink in your room or have somewhere comfy to lounge in the middle of the day when the crowds get high, this hotel is not that convenient. Our stay here was fine, however if we come back another time, we will splurge a little but more for a more comfortable hotel that maybe has a mini fridge and AC and is 3...

Read moreReally good for Cars fans or Adult groups:
Second time visiting Disney this year and second time staying at Hotel Santa Fe. The hotel itself is a series of buildings that are comprised to one hotel. Each area is named after a different character from Cars (Lightning, Mater, Sally, Luigi) but all rooms are exactly the same from what we could see.
As when we were at Disney it was Halloween, Reception and the hotel were decorated in a Halloween theme.
We were informed at Reception that our Magic Passes (which are used as room keys) could also be used to get 4 hot drinks from a vending machine per day, so 4 drinks on each card. The drinks weren't spectacular, but they were welcome in the morning.
Our room was only for two of us (adults who are both 25). There were two double beds of a good size, a flat screen TV which you could plug devices into (phones, laptops etc), a combination safe, big chest of drawers and a place to hang shirts and coats. The room had plenty of lighting, and a heater which we had some control of. Bare in mind that only a small window can open, so it is difficult to cool the room down once it is warm.
The bathroom was well appointed. It had a variety of soaps for use, a bath and shower and a huge lit mirror that ran along the length of the wall.
Apart from that, the beds were comfy, the hotel was quiet and the room was a decent size.
We always walked to the park (there is a free shuttle bus which runs every 15 minutes). The walk took us around 10 minutes to get to the Disney Village, but we are very quick walkers. With children, I can imagine this walk would take around 20 minutes. Additionally, not much of the walk is covered, so in bad weather you could potentially get very wet.
Having driven to the park from the UK, we were glad to find plenty of parking spaces, although near some of the hotel blocks, the area to park is quite small, so it is a lottery where you could park.
We didn't sample the food or the bar, so cannot comment on this.
I can imagining visiting here with small children wouldn't be as magic as staying in hotels closer to the park, as it didn't really feel all Disney, more like a hotel that Disney have exclusive use of. However, for adults it is perfect (unless you are completely mad about Disney).
The only issue we really had was cleanliness. There was dust and cobwebs all over the ceiling. The bathroom was always very clean.
I would stay here again for sure, as at the end of the day, I'm here to go to Disneyland and the hotel isn't...
