We stayed here for a long weekend here from 27th - 29th September 2018.
The hotel itself is nicely designed modern/ retro and their were a few staff members that made our stay comfortable namely Wolfgang down on the check-in desk.
We didn’t enjoy the breakfast or food because we didn’t have any & couldn’t get booked in???? I’ve never had this at a hotel where you’ve been refused breakfast and dinner, one morning we tried their was a 1.5 hour wait, I think this concept is flawed and should be made clearer on booking
the hotel. We tried twice and gave up in the end And for what we paid for the room £465.00 I would’ve thought you’d be entitled to food.
When booking the room on booking.com I chose to ‘pay on arrival’ on booking.com, which was £20 extra and a good month before we stayed, but a week later after I booked the money was taken out of my account without any warning or email receipt to say I’d paid, this was out of booking.coms hands and was down to the hotel - so be extra cautious and make sure you have the funds even if the check pay on arrival - very sneaky. They also took €75 reservation on arrival ‘just in case we bought anything and didn’t pay’ which looks silly now as we couldn’t even get into the bar or food area. MEGA LOLZ. Their was also confusion on exit with this reservation saying I may not get it back for sometime and that I’m best talking to my bank. Confused.
On the morning before leaving checking out the water was stone cold which needless to say woke me up so their is a positive in a negative.
Due to this experience it’s unfortunate that we won’t be staying at Max Brown Ku’Damm in the future and seems I’m not the only one who’s been experiencing problems -...

The litany of problems was as follows:||The latch on the shutters had been so poorly installed that it was impossible to properly close them.||The shower cubicle was TINY; a small quarter of a circle in the corner of the bathroom. Furthermore, the shower was of an outdated 'two tap' model, which required endless finessing in order to avoid a shower that was either scaldinly hot, or ice cold. The shower was also far too powerful for the basic shower curtain, often leading to flooding of the bathroom.||On our final morning at the hotel, the hot water failed completely, leaving us consigned to freezing cold showers before a long day's travelling.||Talking of hot, the room was stifingly hot - and this was in April, with outside temperatures of about 18c. We are so glad that we didn't stay in summer! There is no air-conditioning at the hotel and, being on a somewhat noisy street, it was not practical to leave the bedroom window open overnight.||In-room facilities were almost non-existent; a couple of black tea bags and that was it. For the price paid we would have expected the usual range of hot drinks, as well as basic bathroom essentials.||All-in-all, whilst the place looked nice, it was not suitable as a hotel. We wished we'd paid a similar price and stayed at the Premier Inn just...
