George Libanesisches Restaurant — Restaurant in Berlin

Avoid this place if you want a good dining experience. We went there since the reviews were very good - I imagine probably the owner changed since they were written. They give you a butter knife to cut a steak with - I think that says enough. The meat was good, but not prepared well - medium rare and rare looked the same, weren't even very seared on the outside, and got cold super fast. You have to pay extra for any sides or butter or sauces - and even after paying a couple of euros for a blob of herb butter, it was almost frozen and the meat was anyway to cold for it to even melt. The staff was relatively pleasant but not knowledgeable at all - they'd brought us freshly baked bread with a few small sauces as an appetiser, and not even 2-3 min later the stake arrived as well, not even giving me enough time to go quickly wash my hands. We were travelling to Berlin for weekends, and we went to the restaurant without reservation. It was no problem to find a place there. We ordered steaks with onions and veggies as side dish. Steaks were really good prepared. Though, from my personal experience it was not the best meat you can find in Germany around Berlin. The problem which ruined all experience is that all the tables were located next to the pedestrian paths and there were couple of times some homeless people passed our table. I mean, it's ok, but the smell was impossible to neglect. Another and the biggest problem is that they cheat on you by giving a wine card where only cheap wines are listed, however, the prices for them are 4 or 5 times higher than in the nearest shop. We ordered Reserve 2013 for 46 euros, but at the time I checked the opened bottle I realised this wine...

We had a really great business meal here – highly recommend! The tableside preparation of the steak tartar was world-class – a performance, even – and it was delicious. My filet was perfectly cooked and seasoned; the sides we ordered all delicious. They had a good wine selection with broad options for pairing with your meal. I wish I took a few more photos to show all the great food (and had a video to share on the tartar prep, but we were so focused on enjoying the meal and experience it slipped my mind).

It’s clear this is a small, family business, and is very well run. The server and kitchen staff were al amazing, friendly, and there to make sure all the food was exactly as you want it. My wife was pregnant, so we had to have her steak sent back to be cooked a bit more (not her preference, but necessary), and they were gracious...
