I usually come to Erlangen to visit family and stay in my usual favorite place. However, this time I had no luck and was lucky to find the last available room here in this hotel. For the positive I would say that is very conveniently located and they were very nice arranging a bike for rent. The location is also very good.On the other hand, they seemed flustered in the booking when I arrived. It was very pricey but I guess that is what happens when you get the last room in 50 kms radios. First night I arrived late from my family visit and noticed that I had to enter the hotel with my key as the recepction was closed. I wondered what would happen if I lost the key or it got demagnetized. My room, of course is probably the worst in the whole hotel, located in the first floor. It looks to a little interior patio adjacent to the hotel's restaurant patio so I get plenty, plenty of noise each night. And the room is very hot so I have to choose between sweating all night or hearing noises all night and currently both happen at the same time no matter if I open or close the window. I included breakfast in the prize but is certainly not worth it unless you have certain dietary restrictions. Also I called to complain about the noise but the phone did not work nor the refrigerator...
Read moreThis is a hotel run by the most irresponsible people probably in the business. Despite the reservation confirmed by an intermediary website and despite a confirmation directly by the hotel staff upon my call to reconfirm, my reservation was nowhere to be found upon my arrival. Front office clerk called the boss who apprently told her to send me elsewhere without even trying to correct themselves. She was ready to send me out when I asked to talk to the manager. She said he was not available. I raised my voice. When the man was on the phone finally, he said the the cancellation was due to system error...a big fat lie. They canceled the reservation to probably accept a higher rate check-in request due to ongoing fair in Nurnberg.||They arranged for another hotel completely out of the city completely inconveniencing my trip and my schedule. Don't deal with...
Read moreI came to Erlanger for a training course at the local Omicron centre. The flight to Frankfurt arrived late, so I arrived late to the hotel so much so the all the doors were locked, however there was a note on the door with a telephone number to contact. A sleepy lady answered the phone and directed me to a kebox and gave me a key code that allowed me to access my key card along with the wifi codes (nice thought). The room was small but very clean. The bathroom was again was small but clean with a good shower (which we all know is important). The breakfast was the full continental with a good selection of meats and cheese. The door key was not the best and did not always work properly but I did not report the issue so I could not give them a chance to fix it. Next time I'm in Erlanger I would stay hear again. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from...
