First impressions were very positive. When we first entered this very open and eye pleasing restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly waitstaff who gave us the choice of where we wanted to sit. We chose a table by the window, not too far from the entrance. We then studied the menu which doubled as a placemats. The menu was somewhat confusing as the proceeding numbers in front of the items were not chronological and when my partner mentioned a particular item on the menu I had to first find it by looking through the whole menu. But not a big deal. We then ordered and had to wait for about 25 minutes to get the starters (Gyozaz and Miso soup) which came with the waitress' excuse that they had many online deliveries to deal with. We noticed many, many delivery couriers that came non-stop into the restaurant to pick up their orders, with each door opening the very cold, below zero wind gust came into the restaurant, which necessitated us to wear our jackets inside the restaurant while eating. To add insult to injury, we had to wait an additional 30 minutes for our main courses (Ramen noodles and duck curry). Both items were definitely not up to standard. My Ramen had a lump of noodles that could not be separated and whenever I attempted to eat them, whole chunks would fall back into the soup splashing all across the table. My Asian partner's rice curry dish was swimming in curry and he didn't finish the dish as he was very disappointed with the presentation and taste. Although we made numerous attempts to get the attention of any waitstaff to settle our bill, we just couldn't get anyone to notice and we finally went to the counter ourselves and paid. Maybe they should close the restaurant to diners and only focus on online orders. Very disappointing and needless to say, we will...
Read moreI'm confused by the reviews here saying that this is an authentic Japanese restaurant. There's nothing authentic about serving Thai curry with Japanese "tonkatsu" made from chicken (note to owner: Tonkatsu in Japanese literally means pork cutlet!! It's not a ausländischen term for Schnitzel! If you are offering fried chicken cutlet please don't call it tonkatsu, it's very confusing).
The rice portion was too small, and I guess the kitchen staff left it outside for too long because some of the rice grains were VERY hard. The "gyozas" are not really gyozas either, they are a strange version of the chinese xiao long bao.
The food overall was quite palatable despite the awkward cultural appropriation. I understand the idea behind it wanting to be a "fusion" restaurant but misusing food terms is not cool. Just to illustrate my point, imagine ordering Apfelwein but getting Pear cider instead -- that's awkward. Also, to an actual Asian, not having good rice is...
Read moreNot so wonderfull experience coming here You come in and there is no one to greet you or ask if you have a reservation or something. After looking around I see that there is not enough staff so they are not to blame.. they are friendly though but just busy as hell. Positive notes: it’s kid friendly ..kids can play at the play area. If you are not into kids this is not for you because it gets a bit noisy. The food came fast.. the junior menu with chicken was nice but I wished there was some vegetable with it.. it was just fried chicken with rice. The starters (gyoza and teryaki chicken) were fine. But when we got the ramen noodles soup we got lost because the beef ramen tasted like taco seasoning Why??! I did not finish it. And the chicken miso soup was not bad but lacked in depth flavour so your done with it after couple of spoons. I have been to a lot of Ramen restaurants so this one was not for...
