Don't buy the New York Burger!
This is not a hamburger as you know it, I was expecting a lovely freshly made beef burger between a lovely soft bap with perhaps some coleslaw ontop.....what I got was a dry beef patty on its own which tasted of lots of bread crumbs!!! with one piece of garlic bread!!! I know it does not say on the menu that this is a traditional hamburger with a bap but it was so disappointing....I went local to support the local economy with Covid and all I wanted was what sounded like a lovely NEW YORK BURGER and I could have gone to so many other places for the same bu twhat I got was a cold frikadellen which I could have picked up at the local supermarket! Looks like this place is only interested if you buy their OVER PRICED steaks (I work in hospitality so I know exactly what I am talkinig about!!) so stay away from the burgers because they don't know what a real hamburger is even if their founder created it.....not sure if they sell many of them and perhaps it is time for them to look at improving it!! there are so many great hamburger places out there in Frankfurt so if you are a fan of only burgers and not steaks go elsewhere!! My honest opinion is this is a steak house and not a burger bar so they should take the burgers off the menu to stop disappointing more people like me in the future and stick to their steaks!!!!
Update after your reply Block House: Sorry no point replying to your post as firstly you did not reply to my comment but just the same general reply as to previous posts on here so copy and paste job with the usual email address which means you don't actually care!!! Perhaps you did well before Covid over charging for your steaks with all the conference visitors but after people read the many one star review in the future they might think twice about going to you unless you start to listen to your customers!!! The simply answer is you stop callinig your New York Hamburger a Hamburger and just call it a frikadellen with a piece of bread!!! TAKE IT OF THE MENU PLEASE or be honest and call it a frikadellen!! Also I suggests you look at the many one star reviews you have had in the past and try to put those problems right before business picks up again otherwise you will have an even worse reputation in Frankfurt for overcharging visitors as many have...
Read moreI recently had dinner at this restaurant and was very pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels calm and relaxed, making it a great place to enjoy a meal without the noise or rush you often find in busy city restaurants. The setting is simple yet tasteful, creating the right balance between casual comfort and a touch of elegance.
The staff deserves a special mention. They are not only professional and efficient, but also warm and attentive without ever being intrusive. Dressed with style, they add a sense of refinement to the evening and contribute to the welcoming vibe of the place.
Of course, the real highlight here is the food. The menu is centered around meat, and every cut we tried was excellent—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The portions are generous, and the side dishes complement the meat beautifully without overshadowing it. It’s a restaurant where you truly come for the meat, and it delivers on that promise.
Another strong point is the pricing. Compared to other steakhouses and meat-focused restaurants in the area, the prices are noticeably lower, offering outstanding value for money. For the quality of food and service you get, it feels like a real find.
All in all, this is a restaurant I would recommend to anyone who appreciates good meat in a calm and pleasant setting, without having...
Read moreDuring an unexpected overnight layover in Frankfurt, we stumbled upon this charming spot just a short walk from several nearby hotels — a welcome find for weary travelers.
Upon arrival on a bustling Friday evening, we were warmly greeted and encouraged to choose any seat. The moment we settled in, attentive staff promptly took our drink and dinner orders. The service throughout the evening was seamless, professional, and impressively efficient.
The drink selection, including both beer and spirits, was not only reasonably priced but also satisfying — a rare combo that set the tone for the meal. For dinner, my wife went with the rib-eye while I opted for the filet mignon. Both steaks were cooked to absolute perfection and were served just as we finished our fresh salads — a detail that speaks volumes about the kitchen’s timing and coordination.
What truly elevated the experience was the staff's hospitality. Friendly, fast, and fluent in English, they made the entire dining experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.
All in all, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone staying nearby — whether you're on a layover or exploring Frankfurt. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip...
