The resturant is very covid safe, new paper table cloths for every person, hand gel on tables, fans outside to circulate air wait staff all wearing masks, laminated menus that get wipes clean.
The wait staff all speak good English and explained the dishes for me and gave thier recommendations, the food is very generous portions and the meat prepared fresh for every order. The pitta bread was warm and so delicious, the chicken was so delicious! I really recommend the Omonoia special - it is a pitta chicken wrap and had chicken meat and salad and sauce with chips separate as well for €8 in August 2021. It is a very large portion so I do recommend sharing this! I had to take most of it home in a take away box. It was delicious! My family and I returned the the restaurant the next evening as well, this time o had a chicken pitta wrap for €3.20 and was incredible and just the perfect size. A 1 litre bottle of water is around €1.20 which is very cheap and they have delicious bottled water here. The staff are very mindful of keeping their customers safe and happy and comfortable. They made sure noone comes in to hassle customers with selling street items (e.g. fake jewelry and begging. Which has happened to us in other resturants). Everyone was very thankful of not being bothered, and the staff were very polite about it. Fully recommend this clean, hygienic, delicious and warm welcoming resturant to everyone. Visited twice and would visit...
Read moreI visited Greece for 6 days and had been to more than 10 restaurants in Athens and 2 islands. This is the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Be aware of what you eat there (the meat is not what the name suggests). The waitress strongly recommended lamb chops, so I ordered it. However, when the dish came, it was not lamb chops (I ate lamb chops in different countries and know what lamb chops look like). In the dish, there were a piece like fried/grilled skins (hope it was lamb skin) and another 2 pieces of fried/grilled sliced ribs barely with some fat and little meat. I complained about it to the waitress, who only apologized but didn’t do anything. I ate it because I was hungry. I hope the meat was actually lamb meat not some meat from cats or other animals. In the end, after I paid, when I looked at the check, I realized that the waitress even automatically added 10% tips to the check—was it because I am from the USA, so you automatically added tips? I don’t think Greece has a tip culture—most of the restaurants I went to in Greece never asked for tips and this waitress/ restaurant was the only one who did this—and I don’t think she/this restaurant does it to every...
Read moreOn the moment we walked to the reastaurant someone approached us directly, nothing wrong with that because it happens everywhere.
Before we could sit down a second collegue came rushing in with placemats, fork and knive and the menu card. (This happend to all custumors after us also).
The food (chicken kebab) was almost cold, the fries where limp, almost not fried and the pita breads where so old/tough you almost had to cut trough with a pair of scissors.
The food was within 2 minutes on the table like they pre-heated the meat. There was no customer binding, the personel (with some exclusions) was almost only busy with their phones or getting other customers in quickly. (Or with some 'external' people that kept roaming arround)
I had the feeling like I was in a 'McDonalds from Athens' restaurant.
The taste of the food was good, I have to say that, even it was almost cold.
When I wanted to pay they allready chose the tip for me, if the total price they put in was oke and if I wanted to click for the ok button.
I didn't, that was not worth it.
In this case, I don't have a photo because it was not worth it...
