With everything else that was wrong with our break, this place was amazing.

So...to the young(well he was younger than me I'm 48) small moustache guy who served us, 6ft 1"... Outstanding service, welcoming and was always a delight to assist me and me family. To the young woman who served us hot chocolate, you are a star...always smiling, you knew the right dessert, the way you made the drink...may not be anything special to you, but there was care.

The hot chocolate: let me start by saying... Do you remember when you had your first hot chocolate drink, thick, milky not too milk chocolatey, not too dark...it just, made you feel like Christmas all those years ago.

One sip of this drink and you feel like it's your very first hot chocolate, hot... But not too hot, on a cold January evening...any stresses get washed away with a cacophony of memories back to when you sat in front of a fire and enjoyed your very first hot chocolate drink.

The strawberry 🍓 pie /flan thing... Oh my, you naughty people for creating such a dessert.

And then....they was the lemon meringue pie.

I took one bite, the ecstasy was visible and the male baker smiled and clapped as in to applause my sheer appreciation of such a nice dish.... It's like the meringue you nan use to make "only on special occasions" then your mum made it and it was her "go to" recipe.

Poor experience at the bakery from a new customer. I ordered a cappuccino and a smoothie.The cappuccino arrived fast but after 15 minutes, still no smoothie.

I waited at the front desk for a while to ask where it was and nobody asked me what I wanted. The staff were laughing and having their own conversations as the customers waited with questions. I tried to make eye contact with staff behind the desk but they would look at me and turn away?

Eventually, I gestured to my friend that the staff were too busy talking to serve me. That caught a staff member's attention immediately, thankfully. I then told the staff that I placed my order nearly 20 minutes ago and it had not arrived.

He said to me if I want to place an order I need to go to the first desk! I told him again, I had PAID. He then asked for a RECEIPT as though he didn't believe I had paid. I showed him the receipt and he made the smoothie then. It seems they forgot my order.

I received NO apology either, just attitude. I heard the staff say to the gentleman next to me 'sorry for your wait', yet, I received no apology.

I understand sometimes when things are busy, it is easy to forget orders. However, one should at least apologise and serve customers as they wait onstead of having their own conversations and ignoring the customer.

Will not be recommending or visiting again. Very...

Food selection is very good, lots of lovely fresh bakery items. But it's NOT Tourist friendly.

It's not obvious you need to pre pay for coffee and one lady on the pastry selection with pony tail with multiple hair ties was damn right rude! Already asked for 2 pastries. She did one, and then took her time to bag up and slowly walk to give to cashier, on her way back I was slightly distracted listening to a description of another pasty. She smashed her tongs on the metal trays and shouted at me for my other choice. Honestly there was no need for that, I hope she is not like that to the locals....

Order coffee when you pay for pastry, no coffee menu though at area you pay so have a look before ordering.
