A very relaxed family run place! It is an apartment building with a fair sized pool (so children can have fun, no rules or closing time) and a beach restaurant (08:00 - 21:00). As the family also owns a restaurant in town (the most popular one, with good food) and a farm, all fruit and vegetables are very high-quality. There is no breakfast included rate. You either eat your own breakfast in your room or on your balcony or order a breakfast at the restaurant. Try the fruit platter as the fruit is always perfectly ripe and tastes great. The rooms are already old, however the location right on the beach and the many large sun loungers (at the pool and on the beach, all with cushions, as compared to the many flimsy aluminum sun loungers of the other hotels around), day beds and sofas that allow you to relax make easily up for it (the beach towels are somewhat small though). Another great thing is that several rooms have large enough balconies (with front or side sea-view) to also fit sun loungers. Thus, you can relax during any time of the day also on your balcony, read, enjoy the seaview or just chill. We definitely prefer that to a fancy room with only a small balcony, two chairs and no seaview. The tricky thing is to choose the right apartment, as there are several different layouts (descriptions and photos online are not too good). All rooms come with a small kitchen. The best rooms are the junior suites (404, 405) on the first floor. 404 has two balconies, one with front seaview (table and 4 chairs) and another balcony with two sun loungers (with an extensive side seaview facing west). They come with a separate master bedroom (hey parents, with its own lockable door), two separate beds and a small kitchen. 405 is only facing the sea with one large balcony. The rooms are rather small. On the second floor you will find one deluxe suite and one executive suite. Those suites very spacious. The executive suite has two king size beds. They are both facing the sea. The king size beds are rather firm, whereas the single beds are rather soft. A very good massage therapist also has its own small alcove. €50 for one hour. Highly recommend it! Of course the weather was warm for the first week in August but there’s always a breeze going, so it’s really very enjoyable. Also the evenings are very nice and not too hot or humid. It being Covid season, the hotel was only 2/3 full. The hotels left and right of it were actually closed. Definitely call to make a booking and ask for a good price. We got a great deal!

Horrible experience! Never ever again!!! Just take a look at the pictures and consider if you want to pay 170€ per night (no breakfast included) for a room in such a miserable condition. The hotel is falling apart and deserves not more than 2*! On top of that: - there's no wardrobe in the rooms despite some small open shelves (half of which are full with blankets, pillows, safe, etc.) - not a single shelf in the bathroom too. The bathroom itself is so tiny, that the water is flooding all over it after a two minute shower. We always used half of the towels to dry the floor after a shower... Eco friendly = 0* - They never cleaned the rooms properly - on a couple of days we even found sand in the beds after they "have been made". - Many of the room doors were half broken so you had to really slam them in order to close the door. - it might become quite noisy at night - on the one hand because you can hear every single step of the neighbors and on the other because the neighbors restaurant is also being booked for weddings... So have fun. - For everyone travelling with kids: please don't book your holiday here! Parthenis and the surroundings don't have anything for children. We had to eat at least once a day at Mezes (2 minutes by foot at the main street) in order to use their playground. - The "private" part of the beach is around 10m long, very steep and rocky. (Rest of the beach is reserved by the 2* Theo Star nearby which seems to be a better option for half the money). - the restaurant is ok for dinner, breakfast (only a la carte) is not good and much too expensive. - The pool hasn't been cleaned for days. - The receptionist was quite nice, the rest of the staff ok, but absolutely nothing special. Such a waste of money! P.S. For 90€/ night more you can get an all-inclusive room in the 5* Nana Golden Beach Resort or for 70€/ night a room with breakfast at the 5* Abaton Island Resort - both 5 minutes drive from there - highly recommend.

The location is nice, right next to the beach. The apartment was large, facing the see, with a huge balcony - it was a pleasant place during the morning / evening to relax and gaze to the see. Also good restaurants and supermarkets are in the in 5 minutes walking range. Nevertheless, maybe the place had its glory days 10-15 years ago, but now it is a bit rusty and shabby....disappointing. It is obvious that there was no real maintenance or upgrade done to the place in the last years. There were no toiletries, beside the small soap pieces, around 80% of the towels had holes in them, the AC units were really old and had no doors anymore (just a a huge hole blowing cold air), the dish-washing machine was broken, no detergent in the kitchen and the delivery of hot water had gaps. Also the room had a huge sliding door to the balcony, but it was broken and actually screwed to the frame. The apartment had a separate bedroom, but this was really small - one double bad and half a meter around it, just to walk, nothing more. Heads up for families with small kids - even if the property has its own slice of beach with sand and umbrellas, it is a bit dangerous as the beach is in terraces, above the rocky see line. Considering the high price and the 4 stars, I would definitely expect more.

Our original booking at this lovely hotel was for two nights but we quickly double that and stayed four. It is family run and if you can tell. It has some lovely personal touches such as fruit brought around the pool, our welcome bottle of wine and light lunch on arrival and so on. The setting is beautiful and it is a very relaxing place for the most part.||||Location – excellent. ||||You are three minutes from the (in)famous Malia strip and then a further 10 minutes up to the beautiful old town. ||||A 20 minute walk along the road sees you in the lovely slightly quieter resort of Stalis and we did this on numerous occasions. ||||Best of all though, you are just steps from the beach. It really is lovely there and so relaxing. ||||Rooms – we found the layout slightly quirky and it did take a bit of getting used to. ||||True, these apartments are not the most modern they are very comfortable and we quickly felt at home. Our particular one had two balconies to get sun or shade as we required. The air-conditioning was very effective and the bed comfortable so we slept well every night. ||||The kitchenette is tiny but does have a good fridge. There is plenty of storage but I think you need to pay if you want to use the safe which seems quite common here. ||||Wi-Fi – excellent. ||||Free for unlimited devices and reached all over the resort including the beach. Very quick indeed and easily good enough to stream video.||||Pool and beach area – fantastic! ||||The pool is beautiful with lots of loungers available and daybeds as well. We didn’t use this area much as it was popular with children so we went down to the beach which was quieter. Here you will find plenty of sun loungers with parasols and it is absolutely beautiful. ||||The young ladies who do the beach service are wonderful and we just couldn’t believe how relaxing it was down there. ||||Food – breakfast is available down at the beach at a very reasonable cost but we just use the local supermarkets to buy fruit and have that instead. ||||You are very close to lots of bars and restaurants for lunch or dinner and there is a particularly good takeaway café called Brown Sugar which does superb sandwiches and salads nearby. ||||Staff – very friendly indeed. ||||This is a family run business and you can tell. They really do care about you having a great time and nothing is too...
