We had a nice stay for a day. We tried Nisos the day before, but that turned out terrible. I think the vibe here is better.
For starters this beach club picks up the phone and gives a great personal welcome. We could pick beds and had a big bed and 3 normale beds for 80,-. After that minum spend is 100,-. The bar looks really nice with levels and plants. Different tabels, boots and beds.
We had a good lunch. Garlic bread, club sandwich chicken, haloumi, milkshakes. All nice, and good price & quality. Would not give 4 stars for the food alone since then i'd like it to be warm and a bit better. Read a couple of times how great it was, but it's just good imho. I had a so so Pina colada and a good Aperol spritz, i did not like the rose house wine. Although the karaf was pretty.
The beach is small and pretty full of beds, but still nice. The water is beautiful and shallow. The service is good and they check on you regularly with a smile. The crowd is a mix of relaxed and Instagrammy, see and be seen, and don't be surprised if someone decides that their music is better then the bar's and pulls out a speaker box.
We als had dinner there, which was not that great. Our table was really nice, but the gyros was salty. The pasta ok, the burger ok. But all and all we'd rather had dinner elsewhere. Especially because half of us got food, and then the other half needed to wait 25 minutes 😔 The food only came because we checked ourselves and the service on that level wasnt that good as on the beach.
We stayed for the sunset which...
Read moreGood price €4 for a sunbed ALLDAY. Although this place is right on the beach. I mean literally RIGHT on the beach. I stepped off my sun lounger, down a 7 inch sand mound (which my sunbed was placed on) onto the shore a foot in front of me. Which was great in terms that the breeze was so beautiful, I couldn't really feel the 28/29°c sun on my skin. However the beds were too close together. The lady next to me put her umbrella up and there was no space for me to move my bed so i could get in the sun. I ended up having to wait till someone moved so i could move. They also started putting beds at the bottom of the sand mound i was on, right on the shore. Meaning if you put your bag down beside your bed it would get washed away. Toilets were not in a great state. No locks on any doors and NO TOILET SEATS ... so if ur legs ain't strong enough to hold a squat ... i do not suggest these toilets. Shower was good and that area was clean.
Food was great though. Good size portions and reasonable price. If you like creamy cocktails, i suggest you try the 'Oral X' it was amazing. They did NOT privide drinks service from your bed though ... so you would have to make your way to the bar to get any refreshments.
Music was playing at the bar ... mainly European, a little spanish and I think i heard some Italian. Tbe odd Englush track was thrown in. You couldn't really hear it down by the sunbeds, which maybe a pro or a con.
I think i...
Read moreI have spent the last week on a wonderful vacation in Crete, and I've been to many different places from Malia to Agios Nicolaus. This has been, by far, the most incredible place I've been in. Obviously, you have to get good weather, but getting to the beach with little wind and 30° immediately gives you a little feel of paradise, the water is amazing, and for 10 euros, you can rent a bed and beach umbrella for the entire day. The staff are all absolutely amazing and very nice. The food is cheaper than in some restaurants (you can get calamari for 9€ with much better quality than 15€ calamari I've had in restaurants here as well.) And they keep a tab on your table so you can pay everything at the end of the day. Super convenient. The icing on the cake, we forgot a bag with my wife's phone, watch, and credit cards on it, by the sunbed when we left, and today we got back here, and they had kept it, nothing was missing, and they were very friendly in helping us get it back. I've been through half of Europe, and I would have NEVER expected a bag left on the beach to be there the next day, let alone with nothing missing.
This place is a must for anyone who enjoys drinks by the sea, good food and chill people.
My experience makes my biased, but I'd have to say this is the best place in the North of Crete to chill...
