The owner was very helpful - in fact, when we liked the room so much that we asked to stay another three days, although he did not have a room available he found us another one elsewhere. The room was modern, relatively spacious and very clean. The balcony was larger than average and angled in such a way as to have great sea views but also full sun from sunrise to late afternoon. There was excellent wi-fi access. The provision of a kettle and a fridge meant that we could have lovely sunny breakfasts on the balcony by visiting the bakery a few metres away and the fruit store which was just along the road. The situation is ideal; central to the sheltered port side of Paleochora, on the fringe of the old town and very close to a number of traditional Cretan restaurants. It is also very handy for the boats that take you along the coast and for the bus into Chania The long beach is just a short stroll across to the other side of the town.
