Flora and Haris own and run these apartments and The Waters Edge bar/cafe next door. They also have a newish apartment block behind still with sea views but with a swimming pool and terrace roof garden. That all guests can use.||It’s all usually booked out months ahead and we have wanted to stay here before...this time we were very lucky and had a ground floor apartment, kitchen and outside area, with fabulous sea view and loads of room to move around with the sun or into the shade.|It’s on the rocky beach part of town and gets the pink dawn and morning sun. The views are amazing.||For us, having been coming to Paleochora since the 70’s, it has been our best experience ever. Amazing hosts, friendly guests and a real feeling of inclusiveness. The place is spotless, cleaned every day, the kitchen was well equipped and the cooker efficient.|It is very hard work running a place like this but Flora makes it look easy, she always has time for her guests and has a terrific sense of humour. |My only hesitation in writing this is that I might now find it even harder to get a booking in...

Our balcony looked directly out to sea and to the dramatic sunrise over the stunning White Mountains. Flora, Haris and the team in the adjoining Water's Edge Café made us very welcome. Breakfasts (with raki and cake!) were memorable. Special thanks go to the cashier, Elvis (see photos). A real gentleman with highly developed customer service skills! ||An easy five-minute stroll took us into the centre of Paleochora, a very laid-back village with two beaches (one pebble, one sand - when it's windy on one, it's calm on the other), shops, tavernas and bars. We’ve visited Crete regularly since 1989 and we can honestly say that Paleochora is our favourite place. We’d love to return - both to Paleochora and to...
