hotel spanelis — Hotel in Municipality of Mykonos

There are a few reasons why i am giving this place a 1 star.

The hotel is very very nice outside with a nice view of the sunsets. However Inside it’s NOT. The rooms are very small, they put (2) twin size mattress together making it (1) full size… i was falling through the middle the whole night… horrible… the lights/ac only work when the key 🔑 is inside a special key holder. Otherwise you have no power or AC You can’t leave anything charging OR the AC cooling for when you come from hot walks.

The staff is the owners family members + the owner everyone was not the friendliest or welcoming we felt so uncomfortable we couldn’t wait to leave the hotel.

The hotels location is about 15-20min WALK uphill. i would HIGHLY recommend renting a scooter or four wheeler to help you get back and forth because the walk was a killer.

The hotel is “mom and pop” owned. The owner(receptionist) waited till the last 10mins before our check out to let us know we had to make payments etc. rather than in the beginning as most hotels/places.. almost causing us to miss our ferry. Very hectic morning to say the least.

“Breakfast” owner(receptionist) did not inform us that it would be 9euros PER person every time you ate. Until the very very last second before our check out. The breakfast is just tiny coffee snacks nothing big like pancakes or anything like that.

I’d never come here again. Save your $$$ and book another place. Mykonos is beautiful 🤩...

DON’T CHOOSE THIS HOTEL!!! My parents had a non-refundable paid reservation for September 2020 made before pandemia. Obviously they couldn’t go that year, neither the next. Their health, specially my mother's, has deteriorated since then and can’t travel any more. All the others hotels and air companies were sympathetic and made them a full refund. Spanelis didn’t care at all, despite how much I tried to explain them that my parents are retired people and their really struggle to get the money. They seemed to be more interested in taking double profit from their rooms. They might have a hotel with a nice view, but their work ethic is deplorable. SHAME ON...

Abbiamo alloggiato in questa struttura dal 8 al 15 agosto e siamo rimasti veramente contenti. Al nostro arrivo siamo stati accolti dalla proprietaria una signora simpaticissima, solare, ospitale, che parla anche italiano, che fin da subito ci ha fatto sentire a casa consigliandoci i luoghi da vedere e come spostarci. La struttura si trova a 5 minuti a piedi dal centro ma in un luogo distante dalla confusione quindi è possibile rilassarsi e contemporaneamente raggiungere il centro in tutta comodità a piedi. Le camere sono ampie , così come il bagno la cui doccia non ha l'odiosa tendina, con prodotti per l'igiene personale, la pulizia viene effettuata in modo egregio tutti i giorni e le asciugamani vengono cambiate quindi quotidianamente. Al nostro arrivo sul letto ci hanno fatto trovare due cadeau ovvero i loro dolci di miele e sesamo ed in frigo una bottiglia d'acqua. La colazione presenta cibi dolci e salati quindi yougurt con miele, sfoglie di mela e cannella, pane , marmellate, Nutella, frutta, cereali, caffè, sfoglie salate, e viene servita in terrazza dove puoi godere di una fantastica vista sul mare, mentre ti viene portata al tavolo dalla ragazza preposta per le colazioni. Il Wi-Fi funziona benissimo, il trasferimento da e per il porto è a pagamento se viene chiamato il taxi, prima di andare via siamo stati omaggiati anche di uno snack.
