Our evening was almost cut very short at Meraki, but it turned out to be one of our favourite restaurants.
We were greeted with a somewhat frosty welcome by the hostess. Having checked our reservation (which was for the restaurant) my husband and I were led to a table In the bar, which was so loud I couldn't hear a thing. I mentioned this to the hostess, but she didn't seem to care (or possibly couldn't hear me under the speaker) and just looked at the table and then gave us a choice of the table next to it.
We sat down but after a few minutes of shouting accross at each other trying to talk, we decided to get up and leave as this was not for us; there was no way I could enjoy a romantic dinner this way!
At this point an extremely helpful and friendly guy (not sure of name) sensed something was wrong and immediately showed us to a perfect table by the infinity pool in the restaurant.
We were then introduced to our Sommelier and waiter, both who were incredibly friendly and helpful. I wish I had names, as they were both so nice.
The waiter explained the tasting menu, and would accommodate a change if we decided to take that. We then saw they had a wagu tomahawk steak, and that sounded perfect for us. They only had a 2kg tomahawk, so we went light on the starters as this sounded huge. We had the hot scallops and a lobster salad both which were very nice. While they prepared the main, we enjoyed the wine, atmosphere and the views.
The wagu beef arrived very well presented and cooked to perfection; it was melt in your mouth. We would highly reccomend! As it turned out, 2kg was perfect for two people, and the sommelier had recommended a fabulous bottle of wine to pair it with.
We had a short break and had a look at the dessert menu. My husband had the tiramisu and I had the chocolate fondant, both which were delicious.
After dessert we enjoyed a final glass of wine looking out over the beautiful view.
Overall What could have been the shortest stay we've ever had in a restaurant, turned out to be one of our nicest evenings in Mykonos.
Thank you to all the staff at Meraki that made it such a wonderful evening, we will...
Read moreSo so disappointed. Food was of such poor standard, being English we rarely send food back & quietly stay upset. The calamari was so bad and chewy I had to say to the waiter, his reply it’s meant to be like that, almost laughable! We did not eat it despite being very hungry. We had steak for main I was not asked how I liked it but assumed being a steak, rare was the norm, my mistake I guess I should of specified. But the sides of potatoes were awful, terrible potatoes with some awful excuse of a truffle sauce. Honestly from the beginning the service was poor from the hostesss looking clueless and unhelpful , we often had to wait to know what or where to go. Despite there being more staff than customers. The only good part was an excellent waiter who had great knowledge of the wines who was knowledgable & attentaive. It wasn’t a question of money I would happily pay for a quality meal and great service, the price is just a further kick in the teeth I would be equally disappointed if I’d paid 30 euros for this shambles of a meal . Unfortunately the only good thing was the view. I can honestly say it’s the worst meal I have had in Mykonos, I’ve been here for a week and I’m Here for a further 6 days if I have a more substandard meal I’ll come back and edit but it would take a lot to be as bad as this!!!!! Had I not been so typically English I would of refused to pay for half the meal it was that poor! I’ve had so many better meals, I’m actually annoyed at myself for paying for this muck. I am not one to give many negative reviews, I just hope I have saved many people the disappointment & the avoid to visit.
I have seen the reply & thank you For the offer to return but it is not something I will likely do. I have sent a detailed reply to The email you stated. I hope that it finds you well and helps you in The future so that customers do not have such a poor experience...
Read moreWe had a dinner reservation at the Meraki restaurant in the Cavo Tagoo hotel, and we were looking forward to the experience. However, our evening turned out to be quite disappointing.
To begin with, when we arrived on our scooter, we encountered the first issue. The parking attendant questioned us about being informed of the minimum spend requirement. It was rather impolite of him to ask since the minimum cost was clearly stated everywhere when we made our reservation. Nevertheless, we proceeded to the restaurant, hoping for a better experience.
Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by an elegant lady who was supposed to guide us to our table. Unfortunately, things did not go smoothly. She initially attempted to seat us at the first available table, which happened to be in close proximity to the bar and a boisterous crowd. We kindly declined the seating arrangement and requested a better table. She then led us to a table that was already occupied, indicating a lack of organization. After a third attempt, we were finally seated at our own table.
Regrettably, our ordering experience did not improve. We were served the wrong appetizer, and throughout the evening, our waiter consistently mixed up tables, delivering our dishes to other patrons. It was a special occasion for us, but the staff's lack of attentiveness and competence left much to be desired.
Overall, we found the service at Meraki restaurant in the Cavo Tagoo hotel to be quite disappointing. The initial encounter with the parking attendant, the disorganized seating process, and the consistent mix-up of orders all contributed to a subpar dining experience. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we can not recommend...
