Marietta's Mykonos — Hotel in Municipality of Mykonos

I emailed Marietta direct about staying in her separate studio but after some discussion with her, it was apparent that her newly renovated junior suite with small private sea view balcony was for us. ‘Trust me’ she said in her emails and I’m so glad I did! ||||Marietta’s is more than just a place to stay. You have a local friend ready to collect you from the airport and drive you back again. Someone who is genuinely and rightly proud of her establishment, who thoughtfully restored a beautiful room into something even better. ||||We loved the brand new shower with plentiful hot water and the separate equally new toilet (beware that like most Greek islands the toilet paper must go in separate bin). The basin sits on a long bench in the bedroom itself and was perfectly functional. The large bed was also new and oh so comfortable! Air conditioning worked perfectly. ||||What was absolutely sensational was the view of the sea - from the bed or when sitting on the compact balcony. WOW. JUST WOW. The position right by the famous windmills and Old Venice is the icing on the cake. The price for the experience was more than reasonable. There were plenty of nearby places to grab coffee and breakfast. The cleaner was delightful and so thorough. The place is impeccable.||||We unreservedly recommend the newly renovated junior sea view room for a wonderful stay. We loved every minute of our 4 days at Marietta’s. I'm currently booking my favourite Mykonos spot for our annual Greek Island holiday. This'll be my 20th visit ... But I discovered Marietta's Apartments and Studio in 2004 and have been staying there - on an annual basis - ever since. Just love that place ... Its home from home for us and charming host Marietta has always welcomed us with open arms offering us the finest hospitality - even fetching as at the airport and delivering us again for our return flights. Usually we go in September but this year we're planning our visit a little earlier and June is our chosen month - and - of course, we'll be returning to Marietta's once more as Mykonos would not be the same without her. Besides being meticulously clean and tastefully decorated, our rooms have a magnificent view across picturesque Little Venice. In addition there's the convenience of being right at the hub of things, without the noise of other popular places. Situated close to the famous Windmills, the excellent location allows easy access to all the pertinent places and easy access to Little Venice, the bus stop to all the major beaches, close to the popular shopping areas, affordable sidewalk cafes, vibrant bars and traditional trattorias. Besides being in the heart of the island's buzzing nightlife you can still find peace and calm down the narrow alleys away from the madding crowd. Cant wait to get back in June ... See you soon,...

I've been coming to Marietta rooms since 1992. I met her, many years ago, at the port. There wasn't internet! The few rooms in Marietta and especially the top floor overlooking the Little Venice are the recurring dream of all my winters. I go back twentyfive years and I still cry when I go down the stairs for the last time of the holiday. The rooms are furnished with great taste, they are spotless because Marietta, the sweet owner, makes them clean every day with obsessive skill. You can find in the room what you need to prepare breakfast, which - given the prices of Mykonos - is really good. But most of the Marietta rooms are chosen because, simply, there is no other place like it: you're in the middle of the blazing radiant life of Mykonos, within walking distance from restaurants, bars, disco pubs and famous windmills. You enjoy the sunset from the terrace, having a drink, watching the crowd, anxious to find the best place to watch the sunset while you are just out of the shower. You are in the center of the world but, given the special position of these rooms, when you decide you want to sleep in the silence.
